Am I being unreasonable? Sainsbury’s online sold me Apple crumble which was almost 7 months out of date.

Said it’s quality over safety

Am I being unread to refuse £ 25.00 compensatory payment

An apple crumble would only become contaminated with food spoilage bacteria rather than food poisoning bacteria if it was "off," you wouldn't be ill. You may feel sick from a repulsion reaction to the product but wouldn't actually be ill from food poisoning.
This is a food quality issue, not a food safety one.
