My mum had a green mini then when that fell to bits she got a red Vauxhall Nova.
My dad had company cars but I think they were all a Vauxhall Cavalier SRI

A 3 door gold Metro. There may have been a white one beforehand, but I might be confusing it with the white Rover we had after the metro.

One grandads car was a B-reg with no seatbelts in the back, my other grandads car was a burgundy Montego named Monty. He used to let me sit on his lap and "steer" when he reversed into his drive when I was very little!

Are we the only family to have had Rovers??? It was always a Rover, the first I remember coming with them to buy was red with tortoiseshell trim inside the doors.
Eventually they switched to Ford.

GreyhoundzRool · 27/07/2018 18:53

A cream mini traveller was the first car, then a Morris Marina in a sort of sludge yellow/green colour. It had plastic seats - that was fun coming back to the car on a sunny day and burning the back of your legs sitting on the back seat !

Then a beige Vauxhall Cavalier - fairly normal compared to the first two

Triumph Spitfire, Triumph Dolomite, an old Morris Minor, Austin Princess, Renault 21, Peugeot 305 estate, Peugeot 505 estate, a couple of Peugeot 205s, a Ford Fiesta that got given to my older DB ...

juneau · 27/07/2018 19:06

My aunt always had Rovers (still does ...).

My GPs had a Vauxhall Chevette, which my grandad would rev up the engine in and then let off the handbrake and shoot backwards out of their driveway!

DieAntword · 27/07/2018 19:08

Vauxhall Cavalier.

Longdistance · 28/07/2018 09:56

My dad had a Vauxhall Victor. He had to buy a new car as the Victor one day spontaneously combusted into flames. Dad ended up buying a Vauxhall Cavalier.

MistressDeeCee · 28/07/2018 09:59

A Ford Popular, then Hillman Avenger, then Ford Capri, and Ford Corrina.

ClarkWGriswold · 28/07/2018 10:01

My dad always had an Audi, changed every 3 years.

Another Morris Traveller here, I have very happy memories of travelling back from holidays in the boot piled with duvets, my sister and a friend belting out Abba for about 5 hours whilst driving my poor parents mad.

We lived in the States for a while and had a station wagon with the wood side panels, my father clearly had a thing for cars incorporating wood!
