I am looking for a car but I am such a short arse, whenever I have tried sitting in larger than average cars such as mercedes, renaults, peugeot 207 etc I cannot see over the wheel or reach the pedals despite putting seat forward and adjusting the wheel! I am just wondering what cars do you have and what cars are reliable? I am thinking of a Toyota, Volkswagen or a Seat.

I'm 5ft and I've got an Audi A3, it is the comfiest car I've ever had as the seat is really adjustable. I love it. There are so many cars I can't drive as they're just so uncomfortable but my A3 is perfect.

Sorry I cannot respond to all of you ladies individually but I just want to say thank you so much for your replies and advice! I honestly appreciate it so much and I will be taking everything you have all said on board! I am looking at Autotrader now and going through the comments to check out the cars :) thank you again xx

Just to pick up on what someone said upthread, yes I’ve found autos much easier to drive with my short legs than manuals. Drove manuals for years and they were fine but autos so much more comfortable. Will never go back!

Caroline yes that was me, I feel exactly the same. It gave me loads more confidence. (Loving your user name btw Smile)

My sister is 5 foot and now drives a fiesta. She's never had an issue with cars, usually chooses smaller ones like c1, 107 because she doesn't need anything bigger

I'm 5ft 2 and drive a Citroen C3, it is perfect for me. Before that I drove a Kia Sedona which is a big car but that was even more comfortable. The high position made it very easy to see all round and the pedals were just right.

DH had a Nissan Primera and I couldn't drive that at all, it was so low to the ground I could barely see over the bonnet and the pedals were too far away for me to feel safe.

A Volvo 70 and a 740 only problem is the sun visor.
