Would it be inappropriate to start a thread naming those who send unsolicited private messages in response to posts on the Sex thread?

I've blocked all my PMs. If you go to settings there's the option to block.

I was merely asking about the principal of starting such a thread, rather than asking for nominations. 🙊🙉🙈

Besides, I think it’s a burner account anyway.

I'm not convinced that's an effective response. For me, it's like locking oneself in a fortress, which does nothing to discourage others from laying siege.

Locking myself in a fortess because it prevents me receiving PMs from other mumsnet users? OK. I don't want sexual PMs and I don't need to chat to strangers privately about baking and gardening. I didn't used to mind getting them previously, I'd just block and report. But I blocked all PMs recently as I couldn't be bothered anymore. I'd say it's been pretty effective as I can still use the site without receiving any PMs.

I have had 3 DM just in the last 12 hours alone. One offering to help me spice up my sex life 🥴

I just find it really sad women can’t have a space to talk about sex in a supportive or humorous way without pathetic men thinking we’re gagging for it

Same only i got it twice as I've recently name changed. I responded to both thinking it was a woman but then it got weird and I noped out of replying. Tbf it could be a woman with weird boundaries but as soon as I questioned to myself is this actually a man I just stopped replying.
I did get a couple of other DMs, one was weird from the outset but the other identified as a male straight away and was polite, respectful and it was relevant to a post so that was ok

I’m a man and I’ve been contacted by a number of women over the years. The difference is, I like it. Lol.

@Feelinglikeacrapmam would you mind exchanging notes through dm’s? I just want to check it’s not just me… no worries if you don’t but it made me feel a bit violated as what you describe is very similar to my experience :(

Thank you @mnmnddddd - your thread has helped us identify another creep posing as a female with an emotive back story. Honestly the lengths some men go to for a free cheap thrill is beyond me!

A man I used to chat to started posting on this board as a woman - I know 100% it was him as he would ask me the same things on PMs and then come straight onto the board under a woman’s name, posting the same thing he asked me from the perspective of his wife.

As a woman, I don’t mind it at all either, as long as they are well mannered. Most are, to be fair.

Can I just check with you too? I’ve had an unsettling experience and not sure if it might be the same person.

There was also someone who posted on this topic as a man and then started a thread on AMA saying he was a woman who went to kink clubs. He got found out. The thread has been deleted, I think.

Yes from now on I think I not say anything on the sex board tbh .. will just read and move on. What was worst was I looked that person up on here and within a few days they’d created a few threads which fitted their story so I was a bit more trusting stupidly and did feel sorry for them. And it felt like chatting to a female as well at first. Big lesson learned!
