Would it be inappropriate to start a thread naming those who send unsolicited private messages in response to posts on the Sex thread?

Yeah I’ve been thinking that too. I always used to just read not post so might go back to that

I don't see why anyone should repeatedly have to ignore unwanted pestering.

For me it depends on the context. I’ve had some nice respectful PMs, some complementing my comments, and l like to think along the way I’ve genuinely helped a few people. Not just on this board but on other parts of MN. I’m happy to correspond in such cases.

Once in a while things can get too individual for a public forum, that the public at large would not be interested in; this has included places to visit or a personal recommendation on a specific hotel or restaurant. There are times when l don’t want to share recommendations with the world.

On the other hand l’m not looking for a date! l’ve received other PMs such as one liners saying “hello” and nothing more, plus those that have no value added. I ignore those, but it’s not a major problem. In short, if someone has messaged me and had no response; take the hint.

Of course I ignore (and report). But I don’t like getting the messages in the first place. I have never once indicated I’m after casual sex or sex chat!!

I think it’s unfair to ask women on a one of the few majority female platforms to ignore it. There are plenty other platforms for sex chat.

It should be seen as a privilege as a man to be here like walking into a room of women talking and they don’t go quite cause your not threat/perv.

Men pretending to be women on here to facilitate thier AGP fantasies is grim and should be called out.

I also wonder if some of the weird PMs come from guys that are searching google and MN sex thread comes up. They can’t post immediately and are horny and end up messaging .

Which I can only imagine why an apparently big dick Turkish guy maybe thought I was a woman.it was a fun half hour but I am fully aware he posed no threat me but can see how a Women as mentioned could be unnerved and definitely unwanted

I got him banned the good guys on here need to report the bad guys.

Those responding after Googling are fairly obvious as they often respond to ancient threads which have been dormant for quite some time.

When l can be bothered, if l hear from anybody l’ve never heard of, l check their posting history. That doesn’t help with name change cases though.

I have no wish to do a blanket block as I’m happy to hear from respectful people about a variety of things.

I agree but I don’t think everyone uses the username search function and I do think that maybe if your a woman who isn’t very confident around sex and sexuality and you come on here for advice and get a creepy PM it could put you off being here or asking for advice which is sad because there is some excellent advice to be had on this thread.

My thoughts are similar to @StarlightLady . I have had enquiries and invitations from men. Mostly I declined. Carried on a chat about Relationships with two for a long time.
Another chat lasted a month or so was a man pretending to be a woman. I realised that he was male but carried on because it was light hearted but it did get very steamy. I treated that exchange as fiction, it required the same suspension of disbelief that enables us to enjoy a book or film, I was engaging with a character not a person.
The advantage of staying on MN is there is no temptation to send pictures.
We are adults so let's keep the control ourselves, not outsource it to a Nanny.

I've had several, usually men not mentioning they are men at first, I usually name search and find they have no previous posting history. I usually report to MN who blocks the account.

I’ve had a few, I enjoy the ones from women and have had some fun in that respect 😉 most of the ones from men…not so much. I remember getting asked if I wanted some Mexican dick, which was quite the opening line 😂

I’ve chatted to many (20+) men on here, most of them well mannered, but not a single one, however nice and polite they are when they first message, has not wanted to get into sex chatting and photo sharing. Not a single one .

Yeah there’s a reason men only message women on the sex board @SCWS😂. No man is sending PM out to women on the gardening board!! They ultimately want entertaining with sex chat and think we are just the type to want to help them with that 🙄

Well, I've certainly exchanged PMs on the gardening board! Some with pictures too - and not of me sunbathing au naturel amongst the dahlias either.

Any of late have been deleted by the time I get to them, so no idea what they've been about!
