Pubes on Men. Or Not?

My DH has normally just trimmed a bit but had been wanting to start shaving his pubes for a while. Last year he really went to town and shaved them all off and says it's much more comfortable so has kept it like this since. I'd probably prefer for him to have a bit of hair down there if possible but I don't mind it like it is at all. What do others like for men, pubes or no pubes. Is shaving it all for men common now?

It's not natural or hygienic for men or women to shave their pubic hair.

What utter rubbish. Muslims have to be hair free of body if they are observant. Has always been the same well before it became very much the norm amongst white Europeans

Not aware there is any health implications either.

My beautician says she would be bankrupt without doing body waxing of all sorts

Female 40s here and the only hair on my body is on my head. My body and personal choice. The human body evolved, it was not designed and it did not come with a user's guide or an instruction manual. It is wrong to assume that everything is there for a purpose. The spleen is a fairly useless body part for starters.

And most of us amend out bodies in some way, many men shave their face and most of those who don't style their beards. We all cut/file our fingernails and toenails, many of us paint them, again it's not a natural state of affairs but that does not make it wrong. Women often remove leg and underarm hair, tend to their eyebrows and we almost all go to the hairdressers. This is not a natural state, neither is washing.

If indeed, things are there for a purpose, as things evolve, that purpose may not be required anyway. We once had a tail and walked on all fours.

For those choosing to be hairy, that's fine, but don't think that the more hair the more superior you are or have a given right to tell others what they should do.

@Namechangednorth

Pubic hair is there for a reason.

It protects our genitals from external irritants, such as dirt and bacteria– much like the role of the hair on our heads, our eyelashes and eyebrows. Shaving and hair removal products cause damage to sensitive genital skin, causing irritation and localised infection such as folliculitiss. It can also leave us more prone to outbreaks of genital wartss and herpes simplex virus (HSV).._ Our skin is our first defence and if it is inflamed or broken, it provides a portal of entry, allowing these viruses to spread around the area.

From the NHS

These are medical facts. Not religious doctrine nor business drivers for your beautician.

I've been getting my public hair waxed for 20yrs and not once had any ill effects. No friction burns, skin irritation, genital warts, ingrowing hairs, folliculitis, STIs, or herpese. Nothing. Ever. But I like how it feels, even when I haven't had a sexual partner or anyone even to appreciate my naked form.

Namechangednorth - I'm sorry, but I'd rather shave than have a mullet hanging from my genitals.

Honest answer is whatever they want. If a man wants to shave it all off then it’s up to him. Obviously we then reserve the right to like it, or not. Same goes for us. For what it’s worth I shave mine off and DH trims his, which I like as I’m not a fan of the fully shaved man 😂

I've obviously been going to a very different kind of party.

@NotNormal78 - Purely in the name of balance, maybe I should attend the same parties and drop my knickers, dancing with my bald eagle on view. Maybe some enterprising person on here could sell tickets. 😀
