My DD did her year 10 mocks and on one of the papers she got under an A. I read the paper (English Lit) and I am certain that is was an A, as she has such a good vocabularlrly but the school wont change it despite my calls

I feel this is unfair!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!

CaptainKirksNipples · 03/07/2010 17:10

It was a mock exam? You need to ask for feedback on how to get her real grade up to an A instead of complaining about this grade.

mnistooaddictive · 03/07/2010 17:10

Get a grip!
Are you an english teacher - are you qualified to judge it was an A?

PuppyMonkey · 03/07/2010 17:10

Are you an examiner? How do you know it was an A. Only a mock anyway, eh?

LostArt · 03/07/2010 17:17

Don't panic - write to the school governors first thing on Monday and insist that the paper is marked correctly. Failing that, speak to your MP. These things need nipping in the bud.

NomNom · 03/07/2010 17:19

LostArt

Failing that, make sure you call you local newspaper to run a headline. That'll learn 'em.

NL3 · 03/07/2010 17:20

Spelling vocabulary correctly might be a start - I understand ability at English is genetic!

Willmaa · 03/07/2010 17:20

The Daily Mail said that education has gone to pots since Labour got in power!!

Why are they penilizing the middleclass?

OP posts:
NomNom · 03/07/2010 17:22

Labour aren't in power any more?

booyhoo · 03/07/2010 17:24

this is funny

mumblechum · 03/07/2010 17:25

What have I missed now?

Willmaa · 03/07/2010 17:28

Why are state schools so bad?
I can indeed afford a £10000 school you know!!

Willmaa · 03/07/2010 17:29

And I presume all of your children are PERFECT then? I do try - no need to mock me!

OP posts:
NL3 · 03/07/2010 17:29

Sunstroke?

booyhoo · 03/07/2010 17:30

no one is mocking your child, just your post.

Willmaa · 03/07/2010 17:30

nope.

I thought that you mums would be undertanting!

OP posts:
ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 03/07/2010 17:31

It is unfair. Grossly unfair. I suggest you set up your own examining body, and then mark the paper yourself. It's the only way the school will learn.

deaddei · 03/07/2010 17:31

underpanting?

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 03/07/2010 17:31

Aw, poor DD. This is terrible.

I am sure that her innate understanding of English Lit will include the Traditional Tales? Billy Goats GRuff maybe?

Willmaa · 03/07/2010 17:32

underpanting?

Spell propily please I can't understad

Maybe that's why you all don't support a good english writer

NL3 · 03/07/2010 17:33

Now how did that one go again......

Lulumaam · 03/07/2010 17:33

I didnt get any a* GCSEs but i got 3 grade a alevels and a law degree, so there is hope

but really, there is no need to get so cross about it. it is not about perfection .. it is amazing she has achived what she has , make sure you appreciate and support that rather than focusing on the lack of *

Willmaa · 03/07/2010 17:33

USELESS!!
Like Labour

OP posts:
SandyBits · 03/07/2010 17:34

Eh?
If I were you I would sur for the emotional damage this will undoubtebly have caused her.
And while she's there she can deal with your perfectionism. Everyone's a winner.

booyhoo · 03/07/2010 17:34

ahh i see, this is a joke
