SW London Private and Grammar Schools Waiting Lists (Y7 2023 entry)

Following the private and grammar school exam threads, I am starting this one for those with waiting list places. May be helpful to hear if and when waiting lists begin to move.

We had some offers and some WL places. We have released the offers we are not taking and waiting for a place on the Reeds WL.

Hoping for movement after offer holder days (next week), national schools offer day (1st March) and offer acceptance dates (circa 9/10th March).

Waiting on fhss - nothing yet - I know someone who got a Putney wl and a few nhehs last week.

Here's hoping some movement happens soon. I haven't heard of any but am abroad so don't have any friends in the same process. Do you know if Claremont has a waitlist?

Yes, as far as I am aware. I would have thought that there will be a fair amount of movement this afternoon. Keeping fingers crossed for all waiting and hoping for a WL place.

@Daydreamscometrue This was a friend of ours, they will definitely take the place. We weren’t on the Iist for IPS, but we are sorted luckily

WHS, JAGS and SCHS have gone to WL too.
On the co-ed front, KGS, IPS and Harrodian are all on WL

Our friends turned down the Ibstock WL offer but the Putney WL was accepted.

In our experience WL offers are usually made just prior to the acceptance date - to balance the acceptance deadlines of competing schools which applicants may have to accept if they don't get a WL offer.

Based on that we are not feeling very hopeful today. We contacted our WL school a week ago and again this morning but no news other than they will be in touch.

Yes, this makes sense, this way they catch the people before they make deposits on other schools if they are holding out for a WL place.
