I thought it might be useful for parents of 2023 children taking the 11+ test next school year to have a space to talk everything 11+ - tips on managing stress, approaches to the different papers, ways of relaxing etc.

Let's try and keep it positive and supportive!

I know we are very anxious too. I am telling myself she’s not been successful but that won’t soften seeing in it in black and white if she hasn’t I’m sure

Bexley put an update on the website saying could be as late as 6pm today. I’m not sure I can cope until 6pm. Hoping they send results sooner.

ARGH! That is worrying 😞. Can't believe they're leaving us hanging like this.

I just heard that the tests had to be sent back to GL twice to be looked at/re-marked as they hadn't applied standardisation etc. properly. The HT at Beth's just said it this morning at their open day. Sounds like pass mark is expected to remain the same (roughly 214) but top 180 score has come down a bit.

Yes I agree. We didn't find our venue and exam times until late.

i think possibly they have had an increase in sitters but surely some emails should be going prior to 6 pm.

That is worrying re standardisation, did head say that results would come out today? I mean it is on the website that they will?

i imagine it is challenging with the new provider but this is so stressful!

Did the head say that they had resolved standardisation? I mean did they end up applying age standardisation? This is really worrying me now..

Yeah it all got resolved but Bexley had to get them redone. And yes HT still was expecting them today.

Did they say if that is nationally or just for where you're applying to? I only ask as our results have been delayed too and I wonder if it's because of this.

That's awful. GL are new to Bexley but not to many other places and they have to do standardisation for them too so should be experienced.

Good luck for those today. Kent is tomorrow. Someone mentioned that primary heads and teachers now know who’s passed (so they can do appeals) - so wanted to ask DDs teacher this morning !

We're in West Yorkshire and the schools here have used GL for years. We were told the results would be out early and the received an email saying there was an 'unforeseen delay'. It's worrying that that has happened but at least it's been corrected now.

Limecheese they won't tell you. The reason they get them is so they can consider doing an appeal without parental interference.

So you may be able to drop hints. Although I did hear that one year a head suggested a parent wait until both bexley and Kent were released as the lovely head wanted the parents to deliver some good news to negate the bad news.

curiousmama so you have results coming soon? It is all sounding really nerve wracking. Maybe GL is not coping so well with taking over CEM's work.

@LimeCheesecake they've known for weeks now. I think DD's headteacher may have hinted positive news to me - or he may not have done and I'm reading too much into the conversation. Arggghhhhh - the wait is killing me!

Yep exactly ! Bit concerning re GL and the standardisation although hopefully this is resolved
what was last years pass ? 214? J feel when the email comes I am going to struggle to actually compute it !!! Does it just say pass / not pass or does it give you a score and you have to work it out ?!

I believe it says your child got x and the pass mark was x so they have or have not been deemed selective for grammar
