I thought it might be useful for parents of 2023 children taking the 11+ test next school year to have a space to talk everything 11+ - tips on managing stress, approaches to the different papers, ways of relaxing etc.

Let's try and keep it positive and supportive!

Yep GL in Bexley but Kent next door is also GL and their results are due by 18th even though Kent Tests were before Bexley tests.

Bexley Appeals:
There will be an opportunity for all Head Teachers to request a review of the score achieved in the test, but this will not happen until after the results have been published and after the closing date for secondary school applications to be submitted. Details of how to appeal will be sent to the parents/carers of all those deemed non-selective, and it is your responsibility to discuss this with their Head Teacher. Details of this process will also be published on the Council’s website. If your child is not deemed selective, but you think there may be grounds for a review of the decision, you should still include a preference for a grammar school on your application form and then discuss with your child’s Head Teacher whether a request for a review should be made. Please note that selective decisions will only be changed by the Independent Review Panel in exceptional circumstances, the Panel’s decision is final and there is no appeal process to their decision.

Ours don’t arrive in Bucks until after 4pm via email 😰

curiousmamma · 12/10/2023 21:25

Good luck to those getting their results tomorrow.
Another week to wait here 🙁

Idlovetostayhereandbenormal · 12/10/2023 21:55

Best of luck to all those getting results tomorrow. We’ve got to wait until Wednesday.

Questionsquestions134 · 12/10/2023 23:32

My son passed and got his eligibility letter by e mail! I wasn't expecting it yet so was surprised but relieved it was good news :)

Does anyone know if they normally apply a certain percentage over the amount of places? I appreciate it's all in rank order (but it doesn't say what his position is just 3 yes boxes to local schools.) He only wants to apply to one as the others aren't a practical option and he didn't like them.

Thank you! Good luck everyone.

I have to wait for the post. UGH!

I was expecting it to be the post and then got a surprise e mail today! Hopefully you will too.

GL here and results are sent out tomorrow.

My DS did GL and was told the 16th but came today hth

historyrepeatz · 13/10/2023 06:42

@Questionsquestions134 I think you might need to remind the area for info.

In Bexley there are 800 places and probably just over 2,000 will be deemed selective. The top 180 can choose any school regardless of where they live and then after the usual priorities it goes on distance rather than rank order.

Questionsquestions134 · 13/10/2023 06:52

Torbay. It doesn't tell you rank order and apparently you can't find out until after March if need to appeal. I guess time will tell. Smile

historyrepeatz · 13/10/2023 07:15

Good luck for today!

Questionsquestions134 · 13/10/2023 08:36

Yes. Good luck everyone 🤞🍀

ditsygal · 13/10/2023 13:16

My son passed! We are Lincolnshire, GL tests non verbal and verbal reasoning. Pass mark is 220 with our local grammar being a super selective so really needed a score over 240 to be secure. My DS got 256 so feeling confident he will get a place at the school he wants. So relieved! Good luck to everyone waiting for results!

Coraline353 · 13/10/2023 13:19

That's amazing! Congratulations @ditsygal

Paddingtonthebear · 13/10/2023 13:20

Congrats!!

I am annoyed, we have to wait for post to arrive tomorrow onwards but the local boys schools in the same consortium, with the same test, are emailing their results out today. Post is so unreliable here at the moment we’ve only had post once in last 7 days.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 13/10/2023 13:31

Congratulations @ditsygal - you must be so proud... and relieved!

curiousmamma · 13/10/2023 13:58

Massive congratulations @ditsygal. That's a fantastic score - you must be so pleased and relieved. Does he know yet or is it a nice surprise for him when he gets home?

ditsygal · 13/10/2023 14:02

Results came around 9.30am this morning so we will tell him when he gets home😊

elevenduck · 13/10/2023 15:45

Our Bucks results are in half an hour early. DD got 134 (121 needed). I'm so relieved, and have been so anxious for such a long time!

The very best of luck to everyone else waiting.

Just been to open day at Chis and Sid and HT said they were expecting results today but there are 'delays'. So looks like it'll be Mon/Tues for Bexley

Questionsquestions134 · 13/10/2023 15:49

Well done everyone :) It's so interesting in Torbay they don't release the scores.

I really hope everyone gets the news they are hoping for

Oh no! So no hope for today then?

Coraline353 · 13/10/2023 16:02

Doesn't seem to be. HT seems to think they won't be today

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 13/10/2023 16:06

Oh dammit! I've been expecting them all day :( Was hoping to go to the C&S open day on Monday. Will hope to book for Wednesday then.

Coraline353 · 13/10/2023 16:25

Me too. Been madly refreshing my email all day!
We went today because DS had an inset day so it was easy and meant we didn't have to take him out of school

Same re the constant refreshing emails!

I really don't want to go before the results are known. If she doesn't pass it would be very much like "here's what you could have won" as a PP put it up thread.

I don't know whether the implementations of the results being delayed are a good thing or a bad thing!
