i myself have been looking for this thread and have been unsuccessful. Saw a couple people mention it over the past day or so on the 2022 one.

so here we go, albeit a bit late.

has everyone visited all the schools on their lists?

how many schools are everyone applying to?

what schools are you applying to?

how is the preparation going?

i know some exams have taken place, how did they go?

wishing all the whirls good luck with preparation and exams, hope we all find the right schools for our daughters.

I just wondered how other DC found the level of difficulty of the Emanuel exam? My DC found the English paper difficult but not the Maths or VR.

You're amazing!! Thank you so much. I got through just now. Why didn't I see this myself? Another fail!!

Damn process is so stressful without illness on top.

Someone picked up and thanked me for letting them know and said they'd had about a dozen today who hadn't been able to make it due to colds/coughs so hopefully there will be an extra date for the poorly ones!

They wouldn't confirm it though. Scary!

Fingers tightly crossed.

Did you get the email from them this evening?

SamPoodle123 · 03/12/2022 20:48

@se21mum my dd said the same. She said the math and VR easy. The English a little tricky. But she also is not a fan of writing loads for exams.

My DS said he found the maths and English straightforward but the VR time pressured and he didn't finish it

Daydreamscometrue · 03/12/2022 20:49

@se21mum my DS said he liked the English. The maths was hard at the end and the VR was ok.

Daydreamscometrue · 03/12/2022 20:51

@Dallasdays my DS missed 3 questions on the VR because he didn't know the answers and ran out of time.

Daydreamscometrue · 03/12/2022 20:52

In comparison to other exams it was harder than KGS but not as hard as Tiffin round 2

We did. Just hope DS is better in the amount of time given until the next go around. He's got a temp of 39 degrees tonight and gone to bed with no dinner :( couldn't eat as feeling so unwell.

I'm very glad we didn't go!

And he's only just got better from a nasty cough and cold. I can't believe how he's come down with something else. Poor wee thing. I think it must be all the stress.

It's a relief to be given another date though, isn't it? How's your DC? All better I hope.

DS said the same about Emanuel. Harder than the KGS maths, he couldn't do the last question. English was OK and VR he ran out of time on the last few questions. Said VR was quite hard. Easier than some practice papers we'd done but not the easiest.

Have you had a yes from KGS? If you got to Tiffin round 2 then sounds like KGS would have been a yes for you.

Daydreamscometrue · 03/12/2022 21:36

@Geville yes we've got an interview at KGS

Geville · 03/12/2022 21:42

Thank you. That makes sense then. You have a bright DC! We got a no from KGS and we tried Tiffin but didn't get pass first stage so that makes sense. Do you have a favourite yet?

Daydreamscometrue · 03/12/2022 21:51

@Geville we will be grateful for whatever we get to be honest. Tiffin was a pleasant surprise after a no at Sutton. To his credit he knew he'd messed up at Sutton as he panicked. Didn't find out his score as he passed Greenshaw.

Oh no. Hope it passes quickly for them. Still poorly here! Lots of nasty bugs around

Good luck with it all🤞

Daydreamscometrue · 03/12/2022 23:15

@Geville thanks and you!

secondaryquandries · 04/12/2022 01:31

@Daydreamscometrue just looked it up and we hear from Kings in Jan re. interviews. Ages! To be honest we would be proud if he passed but for some reason my son is not keen.

Daydreamscometrue · 04/12/2022 06:41

@secondaryquandries it is a long wait when the exam is so early in December.

SamPoodle123 · 04/12/2022 09:56

I feel like the wait is ages! Do you think they school will tell you the scores if you ask? I am so curious how my dd did. I am under the impression some schools let you know if you ask and some don't?

noelnoel2 · 04/12/2022 10:09

My son sat Hampton, he found the Maths okay until the end. My other son is at Hampton, he enjoys every aspect of the school, academically it is very stimulating for him.
We didn’t try Claremont but perhaps we should of by reading the comments!

HighRopes · 04/12/2022 10:13

I asked a couple of schools how my dd did, and they wouldn’t give scores but would say roughly where in the cohort she was. It was as part of our decision about which school after offers were made, as I wanted to know if we were choosing somewhere where she should be a big fish in a small pond, or vice versa.

SamPoodle123 · 04/12/2022 10:55

@HighRopes ah interesting. That is a good question to ask! I do wish they would let us see the scores as well. I will def ask for any feedback they can give.

QuiteAJourney · 04/12/2022 10:56

@HighRopes that is really interesting to know. I assume that was post-offer.

KindergartenKop · 04/12/2022 11:20

@HighRopes this is an interesting idea. Do you think it's better to be clever in a mediocre school or vice versa?
