Trinity/Whitgift 2021 entry

I have found the previous threads for Trinity/Whitgift entry really helpful, and I don’t think there is a 2021 yet. My son will be trying for 10+, and for a sports scholarship. He is bright, and pleased to be back training for his sports, but he gets really stressed in exam situations and works slowly. He is only trying Trinity this year because he is not at all sure he wants to leave his primary school, but if he managed to get a scholarship I think he might decide to go.

I was hoping the activity on the exam day might help motivate him, but we got the email saying it wouldn’t be happening because of Covid. Can I ask if anyone had more success at 11+ than 10+? Do they ever offer academic and sports scholarships? I am assuming that we will more have the issue of him getting stressed in the exam, and not passing, than standing a chance of a scholarship, but just thinking of best possible scenario Wink. Thanks!

I think the official line is that they’re sending results today and I had always assumed that would be by physical post. But one of the previous posters was told in an interview that we might get emails today. I think safe to assume that one way or another we will get something on Friday whether email or post.

I just called and spoke to someone at Trinity. 10+ offer letters are being posted today and we will get an email (and post) tomorrow. They didn’t know what time tomorrow the email would be sent.

So we can stop refreshing the page now 😂

We also got a place! Can I ask, did any of the emails mention scholarships? The line below the place announcement, which says 'If you applied for any scholarships or for a John Whitgift Foundation bursary, which have not been mentioned above, please wait for the letter...

I'm not sure if this means he definitely didn't get a scholarship because it isn't mentioned, or if it s possible he did get one?

We were praying for a scholarship, so that's not such good news. I'll now sit back and just wait for the post to arrive

We got a place. To say DS is over the moon is an understatement.
T was the only place we applied to other than local state.

His scholarship was mentioned in the email.

Congrats to everyone else that had good news this morning and hope to meet some of you in September

Whitgift is such an amazing school, feel so lucky to have a place but given covid I am concerned about finances and the journey and safety aspects due to recent news about croyden.

it just seems the most amazing school though. Gosh I need to think things through!
