Trinity/Whitgift 2021 entry

I have found the previous threads for Trinity/Whitgift entry really helpful, and I don’t think there is a 2021 yet. My son will be trying for 10+, and for a sports scholarship. He is bright, and pleased to be back training for his sports, but he gets really stressed in exam situations and works slowly. He is only trying Trinity this year because he is not at all sure he wants to leave his primary school, but if he managed to get a scholarship I think he might decide to go.

I was hoping the activity on the exam day might help motivate him, but we got the email saying it wouldn’t be happening because of Covid. Can I ask if anyone had more success at 11+ than 10+? Do they ever offer academic and sports scholarships? I am assuming that we will more have the issue of him getting stressed in the exam, and not passing, than standing a chance of a scholarship, but just thinking of best possible scenario . Thanks!

Anyone been through the 11plus online sports scholarship for Trinity. Any idea what they will be testing and the format of the session. We are booked for 10plus sports this week. Any tips much appreciated

@croydon46 here was loads of information in the email about the Trinity 10+ assessment. The powerpoint slide show tells you what will be in each session. As far as I can see the only physical test will be the broad jump.

@croydon46 - the session is pretty much as outlined in the email. My DS found it quite enjoyable and a lot better than some online scholarship assessments - not mentioning any names!

Does anyone know whether Trinity is intending to send an email on Friday as well as posting out 11+ results on Thursday? I know a couple of other schools are doing that. Our local postal system is a bit erratic at the moment so I’m trying to figure out whether it is realistic to find out results this week...

Historically, both Whitgift and Trinity post on the Thurs 1st class to receive your results the next day Friday before the Feb HT.
Some who don’t receive in the post by a certain time they have said you can call, and usually the admissions department are working through the HT hol so always someone there to speak to.
Considering that post has been sporadic in some postal areas, I would think it would not be unreasonable to question whether this year they would send results by email as well? If they say no then from what time can you call them on the Fri 12th to inquire regards results.

I’ve been through this process twice, and it’s an awful process but can’t imagine what you ladies and your sons must be going through this year with the pandemic and the change in exam process.

W sent us an email saying, they will be sending their outcomes by email on Friday 12 Feb by 1 pm rather than by post.

Trinity in an interview said to me they will be emailing offers on Thursday rather than sending in the post.

As someone else said- Whitgift communication via email said they will email by 1pm Friday.

Has anyone else spoken to them? Wondered whether they would email on Thursday when usually it’s Friday that results are received...

What about Dulwich College - have they sent any update on how they will be communicating?

@Mando30 Dulwich is physically posting offers on Thursday and emailing on Friday. This was confirmed in the latest comms from them.

silly question on my part, but isnt today the day offers are being posted out, rather than being made available electronically? ie there is nothing coming our way today, its tomorrow that is the nerve jangler!
