Hampton 11+

Calling all parents who’s ds sat the 11+ today... ds said maths was super hard and not the usual questions, he said he couldn’t finish the paper. Wondering if it was the case for the majority or he just had a bad day...

Are there any RGS mums here too?

I do think this kind of process adds unnecessary stress though. They must know fairly quickly who they are not going to interview. Why not just tell them first, in a group mail on a given day, and then call their interview groups in whatever order they want to organise them?

We just received a “No” from Hampton this morning. We Are end of Alphabet. Wasn’t expecting a yes as DS did find this one hard... hoping for better news from KGS this evening 🤞🤞🤞

R27 - maybe don’t worry to much about the significance of alphabetical order. It could be by candidate number? Have others from your DS school applied?

It's a no for us too. So gutted ! DS loves Hampton ! Waiting for KGS now

@r272727 it definitely seems to be in school order so I wouldn’t think about where in the alphabet you are. Has anyone else from your school sat Hampton? If not it’s just a waiting game unfortunately, as you know you will get an answer either way very soon.
We also sat RGS and from previous year threads it looks like letters will be sent out at the end of this week for those that have a second interview or a scholarship interview.
If you don’t get one of those then the next 2 dates are around the 1st Feb when the no letters go out. And the 13th Feb when the yes letters go out.

@getofmyunicorn thanks for the info. So it seems the nos come out faster at Hampton than RGS. Also do you l ow how quickly the yes letters come out for Hampton or do all schools have to send the offers out on the same day? X

We heard in previous years both times on the Thursday for a general interview and we are in the second half of the alphabet just in case that helps! The waiting is just awful!

The offer letters for boys at a lot of schools are either posted 1st class on 13th or emailed on 14th Feb. There is an agreement between them.

Just found this thread. We received a 'No' yesterday at 7pm from Hampton. DS found the maths really tough so wasn't expecting a scholarship call last week !

My DS said Maths was so tough, too. He has an interview and an audition at other schools tomorrow and the next week. Hopefully this Hampton result won't get him disappointed too much
