I've read through lots of chat re 2019 but can't see a 2020 10/11+ 2020 thread. How are your DS's getting on?

Just had an email from Trinity inviting DS to a 10+ interview and saying it will be some time in the next 2 weeks

I am flabbergasted Grin

So the latest for us is w shave not received an invite for sports scholarship- spoke to W they said DS is on sports scholarship list but presumably he has not done enough in the exam - although they say that that may not be the case and to wait - I am signing off for a bit because it’s too stressful did not realise how stessful it would be 😩

@Yey22 we are going to be applying for a sports scholarship for next year, and I was wondering if you could give me any idea of the experience of the boys that trialled (if you have any idea!). How long was the trial session? Just wondering what sort of thing Trinity might expect! Any info at all would be so helpful (my son will be impressed by the pancakes). Thanks!

Delices my DS wasn't invited to the W sports scholarship assessment. Despite him playing club rugby, cricket rugby and school goalkeeper. However he was invited for an interview! Fingers crossed for your DS

We received interview invite and Music Scholarship from Trinity 10+. My boy is over the moon! W Monday and T Tuesday

For Trinity if it’s the same format as last year, the day is split to fitness/agility/ability to grasp new concepts then after lunch the boys pick two or the core sports (swimming/football/cricket/rugby/hockey) and are assessed on them. There is then a call back day for the 11+. 10+ they don’t have a call back day.

Whitgift: If you are asked to swim you will do that before the start of the sports assessment, pre breakfast, have breakfast at the school (hence the pancakes) and then join the scholarship day. Whitgift again assessment general fitness/agility etc and then all four sports (hockey/rugby/football/cricket) even if you haven’t played before. They then had a call back afternoon for the individual sports (apart from swimming) if they want to take a closer look.

The teachers and pupils at both whitgift and trinity really try and put the boys at ease and try and ensure the boys have the best experience possible.

Has anyone heard anything from T who had exams on Wednesday? I didn't manage to ask the staff on a day when will they notify us.

Amazing re the music scholarship at T, MissVal12

We received a call for interview at T for next Saturday -- so I take it this means DS not being considered for an academic scholarship? We were hoping for one but also just hoping for a place, and reminding myself their fees are significantly lower than at other schools.

@rakushka04, I just called them as my son did 10+ on Wednesday and has applied for sports scholarship. They said they were processing as fast as they could, and we should get email today or tomorrow - but that's possibly with them prioritising marking the boys who've applied for sports scholarships, as the assessments are Mon-Tues next week.

We don't have an interview date for T as yet but DS is going to the sports assessment on Monday. I've no idea @PopGoesTheWeaz - do we even have any idea how many took the exam and how many they interview?!

@PopGoesTheWeaz historically the Saturday interviews weren’t for children that could potentially get an academic scholarship but this could have changed, great news your DC he has an interview x

We are still waiting for hear about W. Losing hope. We know 1 child who has been asked back for an interview.

@turboturtle he plays the Piano he is more of a singer. He is super excited. Thank you. Good luck to all us mums. This is so daunting..
