Any of your DS doing the Hampton Test today? I feel more anxious than my son, I need some hand holding!

Remember some of the scholarship candidates will come from Hampton Prep so it's a handful of ds who sat the exam who will be invited.

Good luck to all your sons! My DS will be sitting it next year so watching with interest - apparently Math is usually harder than English so wondering if this trend has continued....also wondering what reasoning books people used to prepare? There are so many on the market and they all seem to be a bit different. We come from a state school so not much support or guidance.....

shinyhappypeople1814: My son secured a place when sitting the 10+ and he sat the 11+ last Jan 5th in case he got the scholarship interview. We have done some Bond Books at home and also I bought Galore Park books to practice. We also printed lots of past papers from different schools (mostly St Paul's, Latymer U, Dulwich) we found on internet. Good luck!

Thanks 2kidsand1cat - I'll look those up. That's a great idea to do other schools past papers - I didn't even know that they published them online! What a brilliant source of info Mumsnet is!!

Look at the Manchester Grammar school papers for maths.

Seeing this thread just now. My DS received a scholarship interview call last week. Any idea want to expect in the interview. Anyone been through this process before?? Thanks.

Hi I’m thinking the worst that the 11+ interviews must have been posted by now and my son didn’t get it. He has been invited for interview at KGS so HB must have sent there’s. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

I think the non scholarship interview letters will be sent this week, along with rejection letters. First interviews on 19th so would expect before then

Nothing for us yet either - saw on old threads letters arrived on the 15th so hoping for some news tomorrow or the day after.

When DS sat 5 years ago, they sent out the interview letters by school. So about 6 in his school all received letters in the same day (school also informed by email) and they all had the same interview date, though separate interviews. The head met with all of the parents from our school as a group while the boys were in their interviews! So if you know anyone else in your school who sat, you should expect to hear at the same time. If not, ask your head. Unless it’s all changed since, that is!

They have been really surprised by the number of applications this year. 100 at the 12+ stage for 15 places, and by how far into London the candidates are.
