I’ve just just asked DD what the sandwich box and bottle are for in the fridge. It turns out she’s made her first packed lunch ready for school. She doesn’t start till next Tuesday HmmSmile

cheminotte it's not victim blaming to say you can see why he's being targeted. It would be if you said he deserved to be targeted because of that. I think it's harder when you can see why, because it's hard to talk to them about it as they can't see it.

Spider that sounds good. Hope that goes through.

Frayed ds had something in year 4 which could have been glandular fever type (it was probably just a post viral fatigue type). The school was really supportive and let him do half days etc, even though there was no diagnosis. They could see he was struggling, which helped.

AFrayedOfHell · 26/10/2018 14:34

GF result come back negative but receptionist said results said to see GP so likely something else is showing up. Got an appt later on this afternoon.

redsummershoes · 26/10/2018 14:44

good luck frayed hopefully something easily treatable.

Penguinsetpandas · 26/10/2018 15:05

Hope the doctors can find a solution Frayed and get your DS on the mend, poor boy.

Hope they get group sorted Spider

Last day of half term here, been working from home all week

AFrayedOfHell · 26/10/2018 16:44

Blood test just had a couple of things slightly above range so GP was not concerned and likely allergy relayed. He said maybe DS2 is so tired because he is growing. Did check his glands (raised) and throat (red and inflamed) but not that bad. I've got another blood test to test a few other things but GP said to leave 2-3 weeks.

So no further forward though obviously it's good he's not got anything very concerning going on.

Penguinsetpandas · 29/10/2018 14:16

Hope he continues to get better Frayed

Well first day back and they are trying to send him home again. DH has gone in, not sure good idea, but been there an hour and still there.

AFrayedOfHell · 29/10/2018 18:53

What happened with DS Penguins?

DS2 lasted until 11.30am. School rang to say he was saying he felt ill, maybe I could come and talk to him because attendance. I said I'd come and get him, and it seems doing PE was a mistake. DS2 thought it was going to be indoor PE today, but they changed it to outdoor and so it was running around fields etc. They've given me someone to email about DS2's ongoing illness but did seem to think they'd be supportive of DS2 missing PE until he is better.

I'm thinking about ignoring the waiting 2/3 weeks for the blood test and taking him this week and booking to see one of the better GPs for when his results will be back. GP surgery is good but the GP we saw on Friday is the one I would not choose to see. The other 3 are super.

And as a desperate blag, I'm on the shortlist for the MN hallowe'en name change. Any votes most appreciated Halloween Grin

Penguinsetpandas · 29/10/2018 19:16

Your poor DS Frayed I would do blood tests now. Will vote for you, didn't know there was a Halloween name change Grin

Not sure what happened with DS - they clearly had just put him back on normal timetable and he got stressed when it was dance and then got himself really worked up and not communicating. I've just ordered an Indian takeaway and chocolate waffles so hopefully that will cheer him up and get some food in him - he's only eaten a tiny bit of bread today. It also cheered up a grumpy DD - she's just over tired though and back to normal now.

cheminotte · 31/10/2018 21:34

Sounds frustrating AFrayed

Penguinsetpandas · 31/10/2018 21:44

Argh sent DS home again, not sure what happened though DD said he had a massive tantrum and now everyone knows who her brother is. 😳 DH said the Head has asked for a meeting with us.

cheminotte · 31/10/2018 22:12

I expect that’s quite tough for DD as well Penguins . I chose to go to a different secondary from my brother as I was fed up with being X’s little sister and wanted my own identity.

DobbinsVeil · 01/11/2018 11:15

Tis FrayedHem but I have changed back to an old name just because I fancied a change but couldn't think of a new one.

Sorry DS was sent home again Penguins. Does sound a bit 2 steps forward/3 steps back. I hope the meeting with the head is positive.

DS2 remains not that well, but not really ill enough to be off either. He didn't do PE on Tuesday but had to clear the equipment away and said it really tired him out, but felt he couldn't go and ask to go home because of how they were on Monday. I'm in two minds whether to say something. I'm thinking I may take him for the blood test on Monday if he's not better over the weekend, then deal with the PE dept for Tuesday when I take him back in.

DS1 has come down with a sickness bug so I'm expecting it to go through everyone here, as DS1 is so rarely sick there's little chance of the others avoiding it.

AornisHades · 01/11/2018 15:58

Oh Frayed it does sound like a second opinion and more bloods might be a good idea. Poor lad.
Penguins I hate it when school use the word tantrum for a meltdown :( When are you meeting with the head?

Things have been calmer here. We're following our plan and dd has been in school every day. As far as I can tell there's only been one problem and that down to her phobia that they know about.

Penguinsetpandas · 01/11/2018 21:20

Hope you don't all come down with sickness bug Frayed I always go crazy with anti bacterial stuff when sick bug appears and normally manage to avoid a spread though think the anxiety maybe as bad as the bug!

Aornis Glad things are calmer, long may it continue.

We are having lots of fun and games with school again, being called in for a million and one meetings, argh. However, does look like they might be putting support back in place for DS.

DobbinsVeil · 02/11/2018 16:50

Glad the plan is working well so far Aornis. how are things coming along with the EHC needs assessment?

I hope the support is back in to place asap for DS Penguins.

DS1 is loads better, so far so good with the others. Though there is a D&V bug going around both the primary and secondary so I'm not counting any chickens.

DS2 remains much the same, so think will go ahead with the blood test early next week. A manageable amount of homework so hopefully we won't have weekend lost to wails about that.

Penguinsetpandas · 02/11/2018 19:02

Hope the blood tests go OK Frayed

Support was in place today, still quite erratic and I'm not sure how long support is in place for.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and happy fireworks.

AornisHades · 02/11/2018 19:20

I'm making progress with the parent paperwork Frayed. School is doing theirs too. I did write a load of stuff last year so I'm revising and updating those notes.
Dd has been to everything she was supposed to this week bar the one she missed after her phobia was triggered.

Fingers crossed the homework and vomit won't take up the weekend.

Penguins not knowing how long the support will continue is stressful too for him I guess.

Witchend · 05/11/2018 19:49

How's things going with everyone now?
Ds has cheered up because he got into a club where they only take a proportion of the applicants, which he's pleased about.
He's also decided his favourite lesson is cooking and is currently telling me how to make apple crumble. I have a few years' experience here.Grin

Hersetta427 · 05/11/2018 20:22

Dd getting on well - made the A team for netball and seems to actually to be enjoying everything about school. We have even received the first of her predicted gcse grades (which amazing is for Spanish which she hadn't done all all prior to the beginning of term. She must be doing ok as her predicted grade was a secure 7 and stretch as 8 which I am very proud of her about.

Penguinsetpandas · 05/11/2018 21:31

Glad to hear things are going well for all your DCs.

DD was off today, but nothing major.

DS came back quite cheeful today, and school sent me through a SEN profile of him. We got a new TV but there are a few of DS toys in the living room.

Penguinsetpandas · 05/11/2018 22:23

Yes Grin there's also a 4 foot penguin on the sofa watching these guys.

Witchend · 05/11/2018 22:25

Ds' cupboard.

Penguinsetpandas · 05/11/2018 22:46

We also have a cupboard like that Witchend. Over time they have grown in size and we even have a car panda.

Witchend · 05/11/2018 23:01

His are mostly dogs, but with a few elephants. The dog started with the one in the middle with the black patch over one eye. He called it "Pirate Doggy". Thankfully they are mostly small. Grin

He has to keep them in the cupboard as he has a bad dust mite allergy, and they should all be frozen or washed regularly ideally.
