Lobster - I’ve been going to the theatre for 30 years. Hamilton is the best piece of theatre I have ever seen.

Dh is quite upbeat. I was on a short fuse this morning with the stress of tying to organise everything this week & he came mooching round the kitchen & dropped a cup which meant I burnt the eggs (he’s had RSI for years I did establish it wasn’t another TIA before I shouted)

Anyway my parents have taken Dd off to the caravan & Ds is helping dh with his Father’s Day present (Lego Batman!) whilst watching back to back episodes of Brooklyn 99. Band call for ds’s show was this afternoon

Stickerrocks · 17/06/2018 19:36

Hope she has some Kpop Sost.

Well done Teen's DN.

calzone · 17/06/2018 20:24

Citizenship first thing and then ds is in isolation until he can go into German.

German lesson on Tuesday

Free on Wednesday

Final German on Thursday

mmzz · 17/06/2018 20:38

I must admit I thought DS was a bit unlucky when he had French to contend with in the first week, as well as everything those taking German had to do, but, now, I really don't envy your DS, calzone with having had to keep going these last few days when the majority were finished.

I think the last two are Russian and Ancient History on Friday - pity the poor kids who are doing both!

ReservoirDogs · 17/06/2018 21:54

2 x German Edexcel igcse tomorrow - Listening paper, then Reading and writing and then done here. Phew!

HesMyLobster · 17/06/2018 22:01

Peggy love that! Grin Brilliant!
Oratory we saw Cursed child a couple of years ago - best theatre show I've ever seen! I'm desperate to go again!

We saw Hamilton in New York, both DDs adore it, verging on obsession - they can literally perform the entire thing (and do, often! ConfusedWink)
They have pleaded to see the London production, but I've always said no, can't justify it when we've already seen it.
I can't wait to see their faces on Friday!

DD's 6th form has quite a strange "uniform" - they can basically wear anything they like as long as it's in the school colours (grey and burgundy) it's supposed to be smartish office appropriate wear but most just wear trousers and tshirts/jumpers.Whenever I've seen anything the right colour over the past few months I've bought it, so will have a fairly substantial bundle to give to DD on results day.

BlueBelle123 · 17/06/2018 22:10

DS is adament that all his school books including A level choices should go in the recycling, I admit he didn't use his books to revise but what if he wants to look back at something are your DC keeping their A level choice books?

Thanks terf l'lI have it later on my virtual scone Smile

Sostenueto · 17/06/2018 22:20

Good luck to all doing exams this coming week. I know you will ace it you little Stars!

Yes kpop stuff in abundance stickerocks! (Pricey though). Fantastic fun in London for both. Lots of knick knacks bought back all told a great weekend and both relaxed and enjoying each others company for the first time in weeks! Dgd not quite got her head round she doesn't have to go to school anymore till September. She is already missing it and her friends. It is lonely for her when all her friends live so far away but prom to look forward to and sleepovers for 3 birthdays time will fly. Also work experience at hospital and 2 summer job interviews so she will be busy!

As you all know have started treatment. I will be on in between treatments but not so often as treatment tends to make you tired and unwell. Please do not worry if you do not hear from me for a few days. I will try to keep up with threads but may be indisposed to post. I am not going anywhere ( not going to peg itSmile) but I also have another problem to deal with ( well a couple really) and fallout from that may take my time up. You have all been wonderful and your support is invaluable to me. Please don't get offended if I don't reply quickly to PMS etc it is only the above that will delay reply. Take care I will be back shortly full time and I will be lurking!Grin
To those who have family members unwell, I wish a speedy recovery. To those unwell themselves the same. Remember there is always light at the end if a dark tunnel and if lost and need to be shown the way forward then come onto this wonderful supportive thread and you will find your way home! Thoughts and prayers to you allFlowersCakeBrewWineGinStarBear

Sost We cannot change the wind, but we can adjust the sails.

We're not going anywhere, so we'll be here when you need a bunch of random strangers on the web. You know how to pull the emergency support cord if you want to!

HesMyLobster · 17/06/2018 22:35

Take care Sostenueto, we'll be thinking of you and sending healing thoughts. I hope everything works out for you. If ever somebody deserved a bit of rest and peacefulness it's you Thanks

mmzz · 17/06/2018 22:36

If it's chemo, I'm told the tiredness builds over time. I've never had cancer, but close family members have (ie I've supported people who have had it).
Lean on us, Sostenuto.
Dealing with illness like this is hard mentally and physically. We can't help you with the physical (although I think your friends and family will), but we can help you escape the mental drag. That's the nice and surprising) thing about this series of threads: they're supportive. So, let us help you through this by giving you space to talk about whatever you want, without judgement.

Catch up whenever you can, sost. Flowers

goodbyestranger · 17/06/2018 22:48

Best wishes Sost. Your You're A Lady from 1972 is now on my ipod - love it. Thanks. You're clearly a fighter. Lots of people on this thread rooting for you.

LooseAtTheSeams · 17/06/2018 23:00

Sost you know we all love your posts and we’re all thinking of you. So glad dd and dgd had a brilliant time. Flowers
I’m going to make sure ‘you’re a lady’ gets played often in this house!

Sostenueto · 17/06/2018 23:12

Thanks to one and all my cyber friends!Flowers

PeggySchuylar · 17/06/2018 23:53

Sost just had a listen to You're a Lady. Lovely.
Pop in when you feel up to it.

JufusMum · 18/06/2018 07:13

Got loads to catch up on as been away all weekend. Sending love to Sost.

DD has done no German revision since Friday despite my coaxing as she saw her beloved Johnny Depp in concert on Saturday and that's basically all she can think about. German speaking went well but not holding out much hope for today!

LooseAtTheSeams · 18/06/2018 07:26

Good luck to everyone doing exams this week - you're almost there!Star

BlueBelle123 · 18/06/2018 07:27

Sost hoping all goes well for you Flowers so pleased your DGD and DD had a brilliant weekend.

Good luck to all doing German today.

HesMyLobster · 18/06/2018 07:34

Good Luck to all with exams today - you're nearly there! 🍀

DD was up at 6am, despite talking all weekend about how she was looking forward to sleeping in (not possible at the weekends for her due to dance and job)
She's gone back to bed now with her laptop and 6 episodes of Love Island to catch up on!
I don't think she'll be able to re-set her body clock any time soon though.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 18/06/2018 07:51

Good luck all for German. It's strange leaving DS3 home alone today!

sandybayley · 18/06/2018 08:05

Sending thoughts to @Sostenueto

One day to go. Not a huge amount of Ad Maths revision over the weekend but some done. DS1 has some past papers to work through today and new garden furniture to take delivery of. It's quite handy having him at home for these things. He even put away all my food delivery for me at the weekend.

I'm so looking forward to the he last exam being over. It will feel like summer has definitely begun!

Stickerrocks · 18/06/2018 08:20

Procrastination = emptying the dishwasher for the first time in months rather than getting on with Add Maths past papers!

Did you all do first day/last day photos? DD had a short straight-ish bob on her first day at infant school whereas now she has a riot of natural ringlets. I thought curls were meant to drop out not get zanier. I'll have to catch her at a good point tomorrow.
