So where's this years Trinity/Whitgift/Dulwich/Alleyns thread

And any other schools you may wish to add... Have used threads from the previous few years as part of my research and ds sat Trinity today! I'm more of a lurker than a thread starter but decided to bite the bullet and offer a hand to hold. Good luck to all dc's sitting exams over the next few weeks! Grin

DD got an offer from G&L, FH Regent’s Park and just got an email offer from city. Waitlist at alleyn’s.

There has been so many ups and downs and worry despite trying to keep it into perspective.

Thinking of all! Hang in there!

Inthe, you could try but you may get the standard answer:

"We aim to deliver to addresses in urban areas by 3pm every working day"

(I'm obviously just as much on edge as you are)

I actually can't believe I have had no post yet! Unless he's been and I had no post 🤷 so typical that the day I'm waiting for postman he's not anywhere to be seeeeeen 😭 I have to go out in like 20mins . That means my husband will get the post and open it. After all my waiting about lol

I know several people with DD's at G&L... it's an amazing school by all accounts.

I'm just went for a walk looking for postman. I could see a red van in the distance so went to check if It was a royal mail van. It is! but I can't see the postman. I can't believe how crazy this is making me lol

Lentils, we thought they were both fantastic schools. Our Head thought Alleyn’s wasn’t best and we liked the coed factor. But G&L is incredible and we love the IB option. I was not expecting G&L but it’s probably my top choice. DD prefers City...I think our head is steering us away from there...we have a lot to think about.

City is doing exploding offers too so have to think fast and to allow waitlists to move.

ooh interesting - your head didn't think Alleyn's was best choice? Was that specific to your dd or overall? And what on earth are exploding offers???

I'm heartbroken DS didn't get an offer. W have said he's on a waiting list. Which I gather is the standard rejection letter? Assuming there is no hope now 😢 this is going to crush him as this was his only option

Emma Sorry to hear the news that he didn't get an offer. However, a waitlist is NOT a rejection. They will have over offered and obviously some people will not go to W. So you need to call admissions and tell them how keen you are to take up an offer should it come available etc.

Emma that's great news a wait list is def not a NO - i have many friends who were wait listed for 8+ and ended up getting places - you have to befriend addmissions and call every week, look super keen and get yourself up the wait list and i bet you get a place. Phew thank goodness its not a rejection, your DS has done so well.

Waitlist is not a no! Our head told us to call today and tell them it’s our top choice. Don’t give up!

Sorry to hear that Emma Sad Probably worth ringing as Firefox says and see where you are on the waitlist. Still waiting for post here but I suspect he’s done our street already so another day of waiting. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
