Eton admissions

Does anyone know when Eton will be advising on acceptance results for entry 2019?
I believe it's sometime in December.

Fairly obviously the idea is only to give financial help to those that really need it. I think Kings Canterbury or somewhere else actively encourages parents to not take the financial reduction offered to successful scholars if they don't actually need it.

Has anyone from overseas received their letters yet? We are still waiting and my ds is becoming less patient as the days progress. Our postal system is very slow here. My dh finally emailed Eton today, but I am sure they've all left for the holidays. Looks like we'll be waiting until well after the New Year!

I have no idea about prep schools. Are they to prepare boys for applications to schools like Eton? Does it prepare them to perform better in the interview? Academically you get very smart kids in most schools.

Our letter has not yet come, but we did request a pdf of the letter which did arrive via email today. Unfortunately, our DS was not accepted. We are all disappointed of course, but as there's nothing left to be done we shall move on. Finding comfort that I will have my son at home a bit longer!
