Does anyone know when Eton will be advising on acceptance results for entry 2019?
I believe it's sometime in December.

I'm an overseas parent - when is year 7? 2018?

leftandaright · 13/12/2016 11:29

Year 7 will be Sept 2017 - July 2018. So second interview will be summer 2018.

Cosynightsin · 13/12/2016 11:33

Anyone else heard?

leftandaright · 13/12/2016 11:38

I will be able to check at 3.30pm today. How about you cosy?

Cosynightsin · 13/12/2016 12:29

Not as yet. I suspect tomorrow now.

Cosynightsin · 13/12/2016 12:29

Good luck at 330!

MuseumOfCurry · 13/12/2016 12:54

I've spoken with someone from my son's school who hasn't received any letter yet, so manage your expectations!

FinneyBoy · 13/12/2016 13:21

Eton were communicating with my son's school head by email (maybe because we're overseas). I suspect only the headmaster would have been informed.
I'm starting to fear the worst but let's see.

Finney my post was unclear. A boy who goes to school with my son has not yet received anything in the post.

The fact that you're overseas probably means you'd fall into a separate batch of letters, so don't sweat it.

FinneyBoy · 13/12/2016 13:34

My understanding is successful overseas applicants informed by email, unsuccessful by letter. That's why I expect the worst.

MuseumOfCurry · 13/12/2016 13:36

Ah, I see. Where did you hear that?

Where are you?

FinneyBoy · 13/12/2016 13:57

In the US. Told by admissions.

Finney don't worry if you don't get in. There are lots of proper boarding schools that I think are right on up there with Eton. For me, I find it hard to choose between Eton and Oundle, for example. And these other schools are much easier to get into!

leftandaright · 13/12/2016 15:08

No letter for us today.

Congrats Jaffa, you in the UK?

Cosynightsin · 13/12/2016 20:52

Congratulations! No letter here yet in rural England.

Jaffa congratulations to your son!

Out of curiosity, what is your son like - sporty? top of the class? does he do well in the standardised tests? did his prep think he was a good candidate? and so on.

Such good news jaffa

MuseumOfCurry · 14/12/2016 06:47

Jaffa forgive my ignorance but does that mean he'll go the Scholarship CE route or something entirely different? I think it's the latter.

Are you applying to any of the other boarding schools?

FinneyBoy · 14/12/2016 15:09

Has anyone from overseas heard anything yet?

OP posts:
MuseumOfCurry · 14/12/2016 15:14

Finney I gather you haven't?

Have you considered phoning the principal? I'm guessing s/he knows by now.

FinneyBoy · 14/12/2016 15:43

Hey Museum, I'll be doing the school pickup tomorrow so can ask then if I've not had the dreaded letter before then.
Admissions told me last week if not heard by the 18th to call them and they'll inform over the phone.
