an Irish coffee should cover all bases Exit!

Second, that's good, he had it in hand by the sound of it, bit frustrating for you though!

raspberryrippleicecream · 17/08/2016 22:45

Thank you for the good wishes for tomorrow!

EllenJanethickerknickers · 17/08/2016 23:20

Russian coffee, maybe? Brew

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/08/2016 08:09

is everyone ok this morning?

ShanghaiDiva · 18/08/2016 08:36

Just got Ds's AS level maths result - A with 278 marks out of 300. Grade boundary was 240 for an A so he is really pleased :)
Good luck to everyone waiting for AS results today and good luck for next Thursday too -will be checking in later that day.
Relieved it is all over. Ds it taking the IB and started back at school last week. IB higher level maths is difficult and I think this result will really boost his confidence.

HesMyLobster · 18/08/2016 09:01

Congratulations Shanghai's ds! Fantastic result!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/08/2016 09:02

very very good Shanghai :)

eatingtomuch · 18/08/2016 09:03

Well done Shanghai ds. What an excellent achievement.
We are nervously waiting for next week.

raspberryrippleicecream · 18/08/2016 09:03

Very happy here. DS exceeded his very tough offer and is off to study Theoretical Physics.

needastrongone · 18/08/2016 09:05

Ah well done raspberry and Shanghai DS's both. Excellent results.

Raspberry, the subject would be right up my own DS's street (not mine!).

Icouldbeknitting · 18/08/2016 09:16

That's a good confidence booster there Shanghai, I'd be pleased at that result too.

Raspberry I've known you on here for what seems like forever. I've gone all teary for you and your son. Have a lovely day.

I am planning strenuous outdoor activity for next Wednesday so that we both fall into bed and sleep until morning because DS is starting to be even more edgy. I am avoiding all discussion of The Day because if he wants to pretend that there will be no results that's fine by me.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/08/2016 09:29

very cool Raspberry, very cool indeed Grin

ShanghaiDiva · 18/08/2016 09:49

Fabulous news Raspberry - congratulations to your DS!

EllenJanethickerknickers · 18/08/2016 10:37

Same here! Well done Raspberry's DS.

DS1 exceeded expectations with 3 A* s and is off to Warwick to study maths. I hope next week is equally pleasantly surprising for DS2!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/08/2016 11:10

brilliant Ellen!

ExitPursuedByABear · 18/08/2016 11:44

Congratulations to everyone with results in.

This time next week .......................

EllenJanethickerknickers · 18/08/2016 15:45

Yeah, same time, same place...

raspberryrippleicecream · 18/08/2016 22:55

Thanks all, specially IIcouldbe.

See you next week!

derektheladyhamster · 19/08/2016 13:26

Fab results 😀

GasLightShining · 19/08/2016 15:16

EllenJanethickerknickers My DS got over 5 A-C's but failed his English. He was still allowed to go onto the Level 3 course and took English along side - the same applied to those who failed the maths.

Because he failed the coursework as well he was unable to resit and had to take level 2 functional skills (policy probably varies from college to college). He passed that and this year was allowed to enter for the GCSE. So although he just left college I will be with you next week awaiting his result!

Good luck!

boys3 · 19/08/2016 19:47

Well done to the various DCs for fantastic iGCSE results.

Possibly slightly more letter variability here next Thursday :) Ds2 though seems quite relaxed about it all at the moment at least.

TheSecondOfHerName · 19/08/2016 20:18

I think DS1 is fairly set on the Level 3 Diploma, rather than A-levels. I'm expecting him to get ABBBBBBC next Thursday. He would have needed ABBBBB for A-levels, but only needs CCCC for the Level 3 Diploma, so that's a lot of the pressure gone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all those DCs who are less confident of getting what they need.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 19/08/2016 23:13

DS2 only has plan A! Level 3 Diploma which requires CCCCC and he already has a C in science from last year so only CCCC needed this year.

Hmm, could have a go at predicting his grades just for the lols! I reckon ABCCCDDD which will be fine.

Good luck GasLight. That pesky English GCSE! DS could get by with a D in English, they'd let him on the course but he'd have to retake it. I'm very hopeful for a C though.

TheSecondOfHerName · 19/08/2016 23:28

Grin

In some of DS1's subjects, he already has the majority of the marks (from controlled assessments or papers sat in Y10) so the ABBBBBBC is an educated guess. There are two subjects in which he is pretty much destined to get a B, whatever mark he got in the May/June paper.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 19/08/2016 23:48

Yes, I'm going by mocks and controlled assessments etc. But DS is autistic, had a scribe and did the bare minimum revision. Will be 'fun' to compare predictions with results next week. Smile
