Brilliant news, mumslife. Congrats to all the DC who have offers so far!

Decorhate · 11/11/2014 18:16

Where has your ds got interviews Mindgone? (If you don't mind saying obv)

Mindgone · 11/11/2014 18:43

Birmingham next week. Crossing everything! Doesn't expect to hear from BMAT unis for a few weeks obv. Mumslife we are also waiting to hear from Cardiff but haven't heard of anyone getting an interview there yet for dd's course

Mindgone · 11/11/2014 19:32

Exciting times! But nerve wracking too!
Decorhate, which day? DS's on Tuesday. Keep in touch, it's great to hear how everyone is doing. And well done all DCs with offers, that must be a fab feeling! :)

Decorhate · 11/11/2014 19:37

Dd's is on Wednesday. I don't know how she will interview. School seem to think she comes across as quite shy which she isn't really. Has your ds had much practice?

Mindgone · 11/11/2014 19:44

None at all! Except I suppose, his chemistry interview, which I don't think really counts, as they had already decided to give them all offers! DS says he will have a mock interview at school next Monday, but no real time to change or prepare anything after that. At least it's not MMI, that's next month! What has your DD done to prepare?

circular · 11/11/2014 19:44

Well done to all those with more offers rolling in.
DD still not submitted UCAS yet.
Anyone know WRT to AS module resit, do all modules need to be listed or can just the overall AS grade together with pending for June be entered?

Leeds2 · 11/11/2014 19:52

Is there any advantage to submitting your UCAS form early? Or late, for that matter.

I will advise DD to do her's early, I think, on the grounds that it is out of the way and she can hopefully relax after getting at least one offer. But I just wondered if the timing actually mattered?

Littleham · 11/11/2014 19:59

None in terms of getting offers, but it is a massive psychological relief to get it out of the way early. Also, they are more likely to get individual help at school, as not too many people do the early applications.

I think the main advantage is if you then get offers quite quickly it can be very reassuring. Most schools here encourage early submission.

Decorhate · 11/11/2014 20:01

Mindgone dd's is MMI so if she has anything useful to impart after I'll let you know! She has had a few mock interviews at school. Never managed to nail a Saturday job though...

Waitingaround · 11/11/2014 20:31

Just realised that all these interviews and visit days and going to get expensive!
Ds has an offer holders day at Bath to attend and a visit day at Bristol so far. Both these universities are only couple of hours away by train, but tickets are £30 plus. If he has to attend an interview at Durham (which is about 6 hours by train) a train ticket with a young persons rail card will cost £95!

MrsBartlet · 11/11/2014 20:41

Good news hellsbells!

4 already mumslife - wow! Well done to your dd. Who is she waiting to hear from?

polkadottyme · 11/11/2014 21:25

Well done hellsbells :) big relief I bet after going through a gruelling interview. Mumslife your dd must be on cloud 9 she's getting offers at warp speed and to think she was worried and stressed a week ago. Waitingaround you have my sympathy its very expensive these train tickets when travelling far. And if they end up going there, can see them not comming home for a few months just too expensive to do so. Think will end up having to skype them just to see their lovely face instead. Good luck to everyone with interviews my dd has it easy when I think about all the dd and ds on this thread that have had to go and do test and interviews.

Horsemad · 11/11/2014 21:55

Fab news mumslife Grin.
Good Luck to all having interviews, much better to get application in early imo - gets all the stress/interviews etc out of the way too!
