cinnamonnut · 15/05/2012 16:00

Just finished my chem1 exam. Kill me now.

DizzIzz · 15/05/2012 16:26

My DD did Russia under Stalin today if that's any help.

mumblechum1 · 15/05/2012 16:32

DizzIzz how did she find it? DS said the first question was easy but struggled on the second part to find enough to say.

adamschic · 15/05/2012 16:35

AS levels can be retaken which is good news. DD is retaking 1 AS level next week, followed by 1 A2 retake and 3 A2's. Final chance to get the grades she needs for her uni offer!

schoolchauffeur · 15/05/2012 16:37

Poor Cinnamonnut- hope it was better than you thought. My DD did the OCR paper 1 today and said it was better than she expected but there were some weird questions! Put it behind you and focus on the next one. Good luck!

DizzIzz · 15/05/2012 16:41

Mumblechum - DD is still at school and has told me by text it was fine. I have replied asking if she had enough to talk about in part 2 and she said yeah but will explain more when she gets home. I will add her update later if you like.

mumblechum1 · 15/05/2012 17:29

Thanks DizzIzz.

Milliways · 15/05/2012 18:18

DS also had History & Chemistry today, and he has Maths C1 and Eng.Lit tomorrow.

JustGettingByMum · 15/05/2012 18:45

Managed to get hold of DS, it was chemistry today BUT it's the module he sat in Jan, so he didn't have an exam as he got a good enough mark then.

He has Maths C1 (resit to hopefully improve his score) and M1. They are on at the same time so it's straight from one to the other.

Crossing fingers here for everyone, specially those doing the A2s. We were in that position last yeaar with DS1 - soooo stressful!

mindgone · 15/05/2012 19:22

DS said chemistry went well today :) maths tomorrow, feeling fairly confident for that too.( just hope it's not misplaced!) think next week will be much trickier. At least his mood is good today! :)

DizzIzz · 15/05/2012 19:52

Mumblechum- DD did Edexcel History and completed D4 and D5 parts (you get the choice of 2 questions in each part) and she chose question 1 in each part. They may well have done different sections, not sure. Hope DS is feeling better about it.

mumblechum1 · 15/05/2012 19:54

Thanks DizzIzz. He seems back to his horizontal self now, I don't know which questions he answered but said that he's confident on the first one, and stuck lots of statistics into the second one to pad it out so maybe it's not as bad as he thought.

runaroundstartsnow · 15/05/2012 21:40

DD has Chem NEXT week, worried now that everyone else has already done it! She is OCR.

schoolchauffeur · 15/05/2012 21:44

dont' panic, its the second paper next week! Your DD may well already have done paper 1 in January- lots of schools do this as it is only a one hour paper. If you get a good enough mark in it, you have got one in the bag for the summer!

Doilooklikeatourist · 15/05/2012 21:51

Ooh hello !
DS sat AS Biology yesterday , couldn't talk about it when he got home , which is not a good sign . He took this first module in January and had a U , so hoping for an improvement .....
Next exam next Monday ( human biology ) then geography the following week .
Also taking ICT and Welsh Bacc which are both all coursework .

strictlovingmum · 15/05/2012 22:06

DS did Chem today, he felt positive that he did well, lot of pressure on him(predicted A).
Five questions in one hour and fifteen minutes, elaborate questions with a lot of workout to be shown, so he did comment "found 15 minutes bit of a squeeze", tomorrow double maths, Friday physics so fingers crossed for him, I am fretting he is not.

runaroundstartsnow · 15/05/2012 22:10

Thanks schoolchauffer, feel calmer now.
DD had History today, she says it was 'ok', English tomorrow and then a break til next week. Hope it all goes ok, she has done loads of revision and every now and again bursts into tears !

FrankWippery · 16/05/2012 00:35

Hello all. Been looking for this thread. Recognise lots of you from last August, name changed, was RockStock. I've got DD2 doing her ASs, and DD1 is doing her A levels.

DD2 had history today (Russian) and said it was really good Hmm and is pleased with what she did. She has English and RE tomorrow. Actually, just seen the time, so today. Geography and Economics coming up, but she won't tell me what she has until after each one. I only know it's English tomorrow because her friend let slip.

Good luck (belatedly) to all DC (and us lot too!)

MABS · 16/05/2012 07:16

good luck to all :) we had full exam timetable emailed to us inclusing compulsory revision sessions so she can't 'avoid' where she's meant to be!

Hi Mumblechum, no, DD's History was 20th century America - seemed to go ok though, mercifully.
FrankWippery, I can't imagine a world where I didn't know what DD had till afterwards. Not sure if that would be easier or worse than my actual situation of practically thinking I've been told enough about them to sit the wretched things myself!
Only two more after today - at least this is soooo much shorter than GCSE hell was...

FrankWippery · 16/05/2012 11:04

Alice - actually I think not knowing is easier. Last year when DD1 was doing her AS Levels I knew when, what etc and almost felt like I was 17 again!

Next summer I have the treble agony of DD1's first year at uni, DD2's A levels and DS3's GCSEs. Oh deep joy....

DD3 is only 3. I am considering sending her up chimneys or down the mines. Far less stress I feel Grin

mumblechum1 · 16/05/2012 11:32

DS has politics today which he said was fine, he wrote tons which is hopefully a good sign Grin

schoolchauffeur · 16/05/2012 12:00

So how is everyone doing today? DD just texted to say C1 Maths "went well" which is a miracle since she got a D in the mock in January-so fingers crossed. She had worked hard for it the last 6 weeks and lots of tears at the weekend so hope its paid off. Day off tomorrow and just D1 Mths on Friday ( her favourite subject- she is looking forward to it- sad!!) which she is predicted an A for so a bit of calm until it all kicks off again for Chemistry, C2 Mths and French next week. Roll on Friday 25th.....

Jins · 16/05/2012 12:12

Day off today for us and General Studies tomorrow.

Environmental Science went well yesterday and Chemistry was no worse than he'd expected but achievements have been low in that subject and there is a general air of regret about choosing it

FrankWippery · 16/05/2012 12:20

Not spoken with DD2 yet. Will give her a bell at lunch time for an update. Not sure whether she had English or RE this morning, but she wasn't particularly panicked about either last night. Forgot she has General Studies too, guessing that must be tomorrow as I am forbidden from knowing what's happening and when!
