2 maths and 2 history this week, starting with a maths paper this afternoon. Study leave and half term have not helped. Dd's mindset has shifted to that of someone who has left school and she has 6 exams still to do.
It's a bit of a battle to get her back into it especially when friends are all out socialising because they only have 1 or 2 exams left.
Never mind, 2 weeks and it will all be over!
Good luck for this week everyone!

bruffin · 11/06/2012 08:16

Ds has re and maths today. He is in a bit of a panic about maths as they have changed the format and he didn't like the practice papers.

SecretSquirrels · 11/06/2012 09:24

After helping DS with his RE revision this weekend I now know more about God and Christianity than my church going mother ever managed to instil in me Grin.
This RE today is his last tough one.
3 x sciences, Geography and Statistics left.
Hope everyone's DCs are okay this morning.
Primrose how is DD ? Often they are surprisingly resilient.

Ormiriathomimus · 11/06/2012 09:27

God I wish DS had panicked about his maths exam Hmm He was way too blase for my liking.

Ormiriathomimus · 11/06/2012 09:29

primrose - just read your post about DH. So sorry. Fingers crossed that they find out what it was and that he makes a full recovery x

Kez100 · 11/06/2012 09:30

Good luck everyone with the tough week ahead.

Cardi, I hope your daughter managed to do some helpful revision and is a little more confident on her Maths.

Secretsquirrel, she seems ok. She was quite nervous this morning as she's got maths, and although she does well in Maths in class, she tends to not do too well in Maths exams. She lost some study time last week with us travelling to and from the hospital, which is an hour away. It's really come at the wrong time for her. The school seemed to think that it was a case for special considerations, and I am just about to ring them to see if they want evidence from the doctor.

empirestateofmind · 11/06/2012 14:20

Best wishes to your DD Primrose and to all those doing maths this week. DD has maths today and Wednesday.

Ormiriathomimus · 11/06/2012 15:18

Maths was OK apparently. But he couldn't remember what a rhombus was. But so far everything has been 'OK' so I don't set much store by it Hmm

SecretSquirrels · 11/06/2012 15:23

RE was okay, he's glad to seek the back of it though.
First day of study leave today so it's a bit odd. He goes to a rural school where half the kids are bussed in and some come quite a long way from out of catchment. He rang me to pick him up at lunch time (no public transport), but some of his friends from different villages were left hanging around until they could get the school bus home.

legallady · 11/06/2012 15:39

Maths "hard" but apparently DD managed to attempt all of it so who knows? First one over for this week - another 6 to go........ Hmm

IdontknowwhyIcare · 11/06/2012 16:19

Ds reckons it was ok. In fact he says it was hard but that he was incredibly prepared (to be honest I think he was). In fact his tutor has just left debriefing todays exam and preparing for Wednesday and tutor reckons there were no real surprises. We shall see.

BeingFluffy · 11/06/2012 16:34

Just heard from DD that she got some really weird answers in maths, so doesn't know how it went. In Latin this morning she ran out of time on the last question but thought it went well apart from that.
I think I will have to go and get some more chocolate to calm my nerves. We went to Cadbury World last week and I swore I would never look a Dairy Milk in the face again after the choc-overdose, but...Wink

Primrose123 · 11/06/2012 17:33

Thanks Empire. DD found today's Maths paper very hard. She has her other Maths on wednesday too. Does that mean they're all doing the same board, or do the boards all try to schedule subjects on the same days?

cardibach · 11/06/2012 18:40

Apparently Maths (WJEC) was hard. DD catastrophised (as usual) about one question she couldn't even understand, but admitted after that most of it was OK. FIngers crossed.

maddiemostmerry · 11/06/2012 19:50

Maths ok here. Ds knows that he and his friends all had different answers for one question! Five more exams left.

sue52 · 11/06/2012 20:37

Maths was good but DD is stressing about history tomorrow.

webwiz · 11/06/2012 22:00

DS has a Chemistry module on friday and his revision descended into meltdown this evening when he couldn't do the first question on the sample paper (new syllabus for this year).

I had to draft in the big guns to help ie DD2 who has Chemistry A level. Hopefully he'll learn to be more organised about revision next year when he's in year 11 Hmm

gettingalifenow · 12/06/2012 09:37

My DD just had Latin yesterday which was OK, apparently. Next up is Geog on Thursday.

I do know her friends are panicked about history today,so good luck to all DCs doing that right now....

legallady · 12/06/2012 09:52

History and biology for DD today. It's a really tough week Sad

IdontknowwhyIcare · 12/06/2012 15:17

How was history today? DS said it went very well, he reckons he will have scored 16/16 and full marks on the other long question!!!!! OMG if he has I will be so proud as he has worked his proverbial socks off and it would be a just reward. However as I tell him every time, I am just thrilled that he settled down and worked hard and will be proud whatever he gets. Sorry wasnt meant to be a stealth boast Blush just bursting with happiness for DS.

BeingFluffy · 12/06/2012 15:57

Awww. That's lovely IdontknowhyIcare. DH just informed me that DD went off this afternoon feeling sick so I hope she was OK! Just maths tomorrow, History on Friday and the final Latin next week - the end is in sight!

sue52 · 12/06/2012 16:19

Just had a text from DD saying she's quietly confident about History and science went well. Just calculator maths and another history paper to go.

cardibach · 12/06/2012 16:53

Trying to coax DD into a final bit of revision for Maths tomorrow, then it's all over for us! She has a singing lesson 6-7 which she really enjoys, so she will have to do the revision after it. I can't wait for tomorrow night!

Kez100 · 12/06/2012 17:30

Oh, that will be our first finisher, I think.

Hope all goes well for the Maths tomorrow. Her paper one reaction was quite encouraging given the reports that it was considered a hard paper.

My daughter still has a science module to do but that's not until next week. She is revising for it well and I've taken off four past papers for her to go through once she is well into revision.
