My vax status is finally showing on the covid status app! I'd uninstalled it before with no joy, but after doing so again its showing (it had been saying covid status not valid). Just in case anyone else was having bother, try uninstalling (maybe theyve installed an update 🤷‍♀️).

ecceromani · 29/11/2021 17:22

Do we know if/when they're going to add the booster to the app?
I think England are doing this already.
Some nhs staff got both doses last December/Jan (before they extended the gap between doses).
Soon they will look like it's over a year since their vaccine even although they've had their booster. For travel that may be no good

Case numbers slightly down on last Tuesday.
Hospital numbers still barely unchanged.

frasersmummy · 01/12/2021 13:42

@ecceromani I was told by the person who did my booster that because its not needed to get in anywhere or for travel that they wont put it on the app

If the rules change then the app will be updated.. riiiigghht !!!

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 01/12/2021 14:10

How do you know that person knows what they're talking about though? Just because they're delivering injections doesn't mean they know about decisions involving what goes in the app.

frasersmummy · 01/12/2021 14:36

I don't .. could be complete bullshit. Its just what they said at the vaccination centre so it seemed as a good a person as anyone to quote.

But people do talk crap in their job eg I have just told a user someone had done something stupid and that's why they couldn't log in but not to worry I could fix it .. Both were true I just omitted to say the person who had done something stupid was me . They now think I'm a genius not an idiot .. while in reality.....

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 01/12/2021 14:42

Haha that sounds like something I would do Grin

I really bloody hope not and for some countries it's now mandatory to get in!

This app is getting expensive last cost update I saw was 4.5 million......wonder what boosters will add to it! Seems like great value for money......Hmm

GaolBhoAlba · 01/12/2021 16:05

I think the need to show vaccine status (for everywhere non essential) will be introduced, UK wide, in January.

Good to see hospital.numbers falling hopefully that will continue and will stop all the fear mongering

tigger1001 · 03/12/2021 07:38

School kids have to wear masks. Be outdoors at lunch. But ours is insisting that social dance is mandatory?? Some kids who have notes from parents saying they are not to take part are being made to?

This is only a few weeks since we got the email from the council via school that we all had to do our bit to ensure Christmas didn't get cancelled.

Personally I'm not bothered if my kids have to do social dance as they do sports. But the mixed messaging from the school
Is bad. Not all teachers insist it's mandatory but some have and to ignore letters from parents who have said they want their child to abstain as they have vulnerable people at home is awful.

Good news that hospitalisations continue to slowly decrease.
Over a 100 less n hospital than 2 weeks ago

mibbelucieachwell · 03/12/2021 14:39

The hospital numbers seemed to stick around 700-720 for ages. Encouraging hospital figures today indeed.

Another big drop in hospital numbers.

OnceUponAWhine · 05/12/2021 17:42

Big drop in hospital numbers, meh, anyone else see the really sad story in news today of the Perth woman having her cancer operation cancelled three timesSad. Life saving operation, being told there’s no icu beds?! Presumably her surgery team was available each time, yet a bed was unable to be kept for her post-operation?!?! What the hell is going on? Looks like she may have to go to Manchester for specialist treatment. Poor woman, she’s not even 50- hope she can get her treatment very soon.
Really, this is unacceptable and I’m not falling for any BS about covid patients still occupying the beds in Dundee (Louisa Jordan decommissioned at peak pandemic, but didn’t it look good whilst it lasted-if Tayside is struggling, any chance of a temporary facility to help with their overflow? No? I wonder why…)
There are so many questions that need truthful answers about what is actually happening in our hospitals. Angry

Perihelion · 05/12/2021 22:37

All surgery teams will be fighting for ICU beds for their patients. Part of the problem of Covid is ICU has to be split into Covid and non Covid. Add in emergency admissions, such as heart attacks and major trauma, where it's an immediate life or death situation and surgery gets cancelled where it isn't safe to be carried out without the guarantee of an ICU bed.
None of the nightingale hospitals were ever capable of providing ICU care because they didn't seem to factor in how to staff them, or provide all the other services required, which would be on-site if care was provided in a real hospital.

Haudyourwheesht · 06/12/2021 06:23

I thought it was pretty much confirmed that Louisa Jordan was just to provide palliative care if the hospitals were overwhelmed? It wasn't set up for operations, or any other services. It was somewhere to put people waiting to die.
