Thanks @dancemom .

3 fewer in hospital.

mibbelucieachwell · 11/03/2022 15:06

Oh no. My mistake, another small increase in the hospital numbers.

I reckon (hope) we're at or near a peak.

I hope this is what NS also thinks and continues with the plan to take the last of the covid restrictions out of law and into guidance.

dancemom · 15/03/2022 14:50

Nicola just announced face masks to remain due to surge in cases

OP posts:
LizzieMacQueen · 15/03/2022 15:12

So hospital numbers up from 1600s to almost 2000 since Friday? That's a steep rise.

Belindabelle · 15/03/2022 15:52

My child is in Forth Valley hospital and as of today they have gone back to no visitors on the wards. His high school is going back to home learning for certain year groups.

ResilienceWanker · 15/03/2022 16:04

I'm really surprised by the hospital numbers... seems like only a few weeks ago I was taking bets as to when they would dip below 1000, and now we're back up to double that. In the past there has been a lag, with hospital numbers increasing a couple of weeks after case numbers increased...but this time they seem to be going in tandem. I'm assuming that's largely because they are "incidental", just reflecting high numbers in the community, rather than "because of" Covid admissions. Though of course it is still problematic in terms of management/ separation from negative patients etc. A bit of a different story, maybe though.

And don't get me started on the mask thing... I've been railing enough on the railing thread about that Grin Don't want to bring my foul language over here...!

patritus · 15/03/2022 16:12

Intensive care numbers have almost doubled since beginning of the month.
Did anyone listen to the announcement today? I don't anymore. I prefer @dancemom who just gives the figures without a load of doom mongering as well Smile

Did SG give any context to the figures and why we are now going in the wrong direction? Are the boosters wearing off now?

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 16:16

She thinks it's the BA.2 sub variant of omicron which is more transmissible @patritus .

I'm sorry your child is in hospital @Belindabelle

dancemom · 15/03/2022 16:17

Basically due to a surge in case as hospital numbers are almost back at the peak from January last year and it will be reviewed again in 2 weeks

I expect if this variant is so infectious people may be going into hospital with something else and catching covid in thereConfused

Ladies and gentlemen, my retirement fast approaches ...

Future of COVID-19 Data Reporting
Following the publication of Scotland’s Strategic Framework updatee in February 2022 we are now planning to move to a single main source of headline COVID-19 data. From mid-April 2022, all headline COVID-19 data can be sourced from Public Health Scotland’s (PHS) COVID-19 Daily Dashboardd. We will no longer provide updates to the figures on this webpage but will instead clearly signpost to the range of COVID-19 data published - including headline data on COVID-19 cases, hospitalisations, deaths and vaccinations published on the PHS dashboard as well as to other sources of data reported elsewhere

"We are now going to move to a single main source of headline
covid -19 data which will be Dancemom" Grin

ResilienceWanker · 22/03/2022 16:05

Grin Thanks, dancemom! Hope they give you the credit you deserve!

I'm hoping the figures today are just a blip, catching up with the weekend, and various technical cockups last week.

Itsbackagain · 22/03/2022 21:30

Just to say - my MIL is one of the 29 people in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19. She caught it in ICU, she didn't have it before she went in ...............

patritus · 22/03/2022 21:43

Crikey @Itsbackagain that's not goodConfused
Hope she's doing okThanks

I've long said on here that there's probably a sizeable percentage of people catching it on hospital wards, but I hadn't thought of catching it in icu
