Anyone else unsure who to vote for?

Used to be a Labour supporter but they don't stand in my constituency (or when they do, they come 5th or 6th). It's between SNP, Lib Dem and Tories (in that order) here. I physically can't vote for the latter two, however I'm not enthusiastic to vote SNP, despite voting for them previously. Greens aren't standing either. I hate the idea of spoiling my ballot but I genuinely don't know what to do. Anyone else in the same situation (not necessarily stuck between the same parties)?

Voted Tory - best chance of getting SNP out. Clacks here.

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 06/05/2021 19:39

Voted Labour and Tory, spreading my bets to give the best chance of beating the SNP. Parents and DH did the same - tactical voting against Indyref2 definitely top priority this time around.

MissBarbary · 06/05/2021 19:41

Tory and Tory. Really swithered about second vote (and still not sure I understand how it works)

WouldBeGood · 06/05/2021 19:47

Tactical vote constituency so Tory, Labour list which was a choice. Like their positive thinking off the bloody Indy stuff.

RaspberryCoulis · 06/05/2021 20:15

Labour constituency, Conservative list. DH and oldest DS the same.

Had to laugh at the wee woman standing outside the Burgh Halls in Maryhill in the lashing rain with her "VOTE GREEN VOTE HARVIE" sign.

Aye right love.

StarryEyeSurprise · 06/05/2021 20:17

Voting Tory in Maryhill! My family in Hartlepool can't believe their council election is due to return a Tory win.

RaspberryCoulis · 06/05/2021 20:24

I don't live in Maryhill. I drove past the drookit woman earlier. She's probably still there.

PufferFishGoneWrong · 06/05/2021 20:24

Conservative for both for me and DH.

There has been some horrible Facebook posts going about. SNP supporters Saying Tory voters needs to remember voting are tomorrow and to post ballots to the bin and some others too.

forfucksakenett · 06/05/2021 20:28

I wish Tory voters would post their balllots in the bin. I don't see what's wrong with hoping for that! Smile

I suppose the name can just be changed to SNP and that would look and sound better.
forfucksakenett · 06/05/2021 20:32

Yep! That's kind of how it works! Insert the hated party of your choice Grin

There was a good Twitter thingy, aimed at the tory voters, but could be applied elsewhere: stay home, protect the NHS, save lives.

MissAmandaLa1kes · 06/05/2021 20:43

As fishermans friends sing "no hopers, losers and rogues."

MissBarbary · 06/05/2021 20:54

@forfucksakenett

In a big queue. Lots of anti Tory chat.
Nice contempt for democracy there. Canvassing is expressly prohibited in the vicinity of polling stations. There should not have been "anti Tory chat" audible to people waiting to vote.
titsintiers · 06/05/2021 21:04

I must say I find the sneering at voting intentions on fb/ Twitter most distasteful. Debate on here is fine because it's anonymous.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 06/05/2021 21:07

Who said it was canvassing? People are allowed to chat while they queue!

forfucksakenett · 06/05/2021 21:10

Yes it was chat. Hilarious chat. I live in the West of Scotland. Anti Tory chat is pretty common here. A woman said and I quote 'fucking Nicole said she voted Tory and I swear to fucking God if she has she can pick her fucking bags' ... queue started laughing and nodding.

I've changed fucking Nicole's name just in case she or her angry mother are on here Smile

forfucksakenett · 06/05/2021 21:10

Pack her fucking bags

WouldBeGood · 06/05/2021 21:25

Pretty intellectual nuanced chat all round

Audible "anti- Tory chat" outside a polling station is not just chat.
MissBarbary · 06/05/2021 21:36

Don't air your political views inside the polling station

According to theElectoral Commission, political discussion is not allowed inside and immediately around polling stations - meaning you can't tell people who you voted for, or ask who they voted for

Staff will ask to you to stop talking if they catch you doing so in these areas, to ensure there's no risk of you influencing other people

Seems like a pretty smart woman to me. With a strong moral compass 😂
WouldBeGood · 06/05/2021 22:12

I think the Buckfast has been broken out tonight

SoMuchForSummerLove · 06/05/2021 22:13

Bloody hell @MissBarbary I think you're reading a wee bit much info people passing the time of day with their neighbours.
