@Lockdownbear he usually does but he just screamed when I put him in it earlier. He's just dozed off so we can eat our lunch thankfully.
We'll likely be at the park for a couple of hours if there are other kids there think it would kill my back having him in it for that long.
DH has emerged for his lunch break now too so things are calmer now.

WouldBeGood · 22/01/2021 12:16

@Lockdownbear no, cos it’s overwhelmingly old people in hospital and long Covid isn’t a reason for continued lockdown.

@rookiemere great picture

@RaspberryCoulis I’ve just had enough

WouldBeGood · 22/01/2021 12:16

And @shouldistop 💐

RaspberryCoulis · 22/01/2021 12:22

They have said for a fucking year that the vaccine is the way out of this.

Now we have a vaccine (three in fact), they've stuck it into 300,000 people already and more every day but that's not good enough and we have to keep locked down until summer.

Just NO. Not doing it. I'm out as soon as they've vaccinated those vulnerable groups.

RaspberryCoulis · 22/01/2021 12:25

And it'll be a cold day in hell before I take advice from Nicola Sturgeon about how to do my fucking shopping. Is there any aspect of our lives which she doesn't want to control??

Tomorrowisanewday · 22/01/2021 12:30

RaspberryCoulis - agreed!! My teeth are itching at that bit - I'm a grown woman, not a child, I know how to behave in public without this sodding lecture!

littlbrowndog · 22/01/2021 12:31

What did she say about us shopping ?

RaspberryCoulis · 22/01/2021 12:33

A wee lecture about how to do it in the Nicola approved way. Go on your own, keep your disrance, sanitise.

And the best wee gem of insight - if it looks a wee bit busy, maybe go home and try another time. Hmm

Just the usual patronising twaddle.

littlbrowndog · 22/01/2021 12:39

Oh ffs

Arse

littlbrowndog · 22/01/2021 12:41

Leave the toddlers in front of the telly

I can’t believe she is telling us to to shop

It’s mad

Every last bit of our life’s being controlled

Lockdownbear · 22/01/2021 12:44

And the best wee gem of insight - if it looks a wee bit busy, maybe go home and try another time.

She didn't seriously come out with that???
How fucking far from reality is she??? Who the heck has time to go to the shops multiple times waiting for when its quiet???

Even the Queen wouldn't be so patronising. Why do folk vote for that silly bint?

littlbrowndog · 22/01/2021 12:48

It’s like that stupid advert

Light a few candles at tea time

No just fuck off

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/01/2021 12:58

Can't be doing with the trite soundbites while having no fucking idea how people are living. Some people are on shifts so have to go when they can go, or people need support or whatever, I'm leaving delivery slots for those who need them but there are plenty of click and collect so doing that, but then I have a car and can do one big shop a week. Limited public transport and going on your own means you can't carry as much if you don't have a car so people end up going multiple times. What's the difference between two people going together to get as much as they can carry and one person going multiple times to do the same. Does she think we are enjoying shopping for food?

Oh you have my sympathies shouldistop. I had a breakdown and was shouting at DH as I just am struggling to cope and feel overwhelmed. He is trying to do his job. It all just came to a head. Stomach in knots. May have to speak to a GP. Days and days of this is unbearable.

rookiemere · 22/01/2021 13:02

Ok this is biased and perhaps petulant but there we go. On BBC NS announces £500,000 to provide support for frontline health staff and could be used - as an example given by her - to provide free hot drinks. It just seems ludicrously superficial and not what I'd choose to spend my tax pounds on.

I get that NHS staff work hard, but last time I looked they could still afford to buy hot drinks - finding anywhere to sell them with the latest lockdown measures could be the real issue.

Would any spare money not be better spent ensuring schools have PPE for teachers when they reopen or providing support packages for those who have lost their jobs ?

Dinnafashyersel · 22/01/2021 13:02

It gets better. She's allocated a big wadge of cash to provide free snacks and drinks for the frontline workers - think I'd rather be allowed to pick up my own preference of tooth rot from the corner shop on the way in than await Govt hand out - free school meals of beans on toast whether you like it or not on steroids.

If she hadn't closed all the local cafes they would still be providing treat pizza deliveries etc as they did in March without Govt intervention. Now wondering what the difference is between a Govt employee shopping on my behalf and me doing it from a Covid secure pov.

One for the stats junkies. Last week Gregor Smith said 20 nursing home vaccinations saved 1 death (in comparison to vaccing 600 over 70s per death). This week NS says 40 - I wonder if that is 2 doses or a tacit acknowledgement of early research showing may be only 50% effective in nursing home group?

Also Scotland may have vaxxed 95% of our 35,000 nursing home residents but England over 50% of all over 80s whereas Scotland is at 13%. According to the ONS there are over 600,00 over 90s in the UK so focusing on nursing homes likely misses more than half of them let alone 80s.

rookiemere · 22/01/2021 13:04

@WaxOnFeckOff I suspect she does think we are getting enjoyment shopping for our food - and that must be stamped out at all costs !

Well piffle, I did a rather unnecessary journey to get DS some Waitrose sushi as he's feeling down about his school work guess I've just spoiled any attempts not to appear middle class and not financially stretched there.

Dinnafashyersel · 22/01/2021 13:04

X post rookie. I agree.

Dinnafashyersel · 22/01/2021 13:10

I send DD2 for my bread and milk and whatever else she fancies to get her out the house and give her a bit of autonomy but mostly because I HATE shopping so much.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 22/01/2021 13:10

hang on a wee minute, who where what says lockdown until the summer? I haven't been watching the news today

Dinnafashyersel · 22/01/2021 13:11

Zero Devi has been all over the airwaves again cos her strategy worked out so well last Summer. Angry

user1487194234 · 22/01/2021 13:11

i feel that they (both governments ) are being really negative just now so people don't start relaxing and that in fact as things start to improve the restrictions will be relaxed.

I certainly hope so as I honestly cant take much more of this

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/01/2021 13:13

Dh is an NHS worker, he's happy to get a coffee or tea from the WVRS or M&S on the hospital site or just drink the stuff he took with him in his flask. I'd imagine that staff taking turns to bring in tea bags and a packet of biscuits will be of negligible cost (to staff) compared to ordering it in through NHS contracts will be to the NHS.

Loads of offices probably have tons of tea and coffee etc that will be going out of date before staff return and would be probably happy to donate it to the NHS or food banks etc.

I send the kids up to the Co-op for sweeties most days to give them something to do. I guess I shouldn't but there's fuck all else for them to do.

In other news, did you see those 2 guys who died in the hotel fire at Loch Lomond, the fire was causes by someone putting ashes and embers in a cupboard? What a horrible wasted of lives, so avoidable. And they have named the guy who (followed instructions to) put the ash in the cupboard. How the hell do you live with that?

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 22/01/2021 13:24

So apparently NS hade Bute House decorated during lockdown 🤦‍♀️ as much as I loathe her politics I had her down as smarter than that.

It was apparently essential maintenance but fuck sake! And Devi zero can piss off. I think I speak for most that we would all have bought into that last year, welcomed it in fact in March but now this far down the line, been banned from visits since September time I think they can piss right off that ship has sailed
