@MamaTookMyEyebrows I am the same. Feel short and snappy with the kids who are clueless. I'm not too politically minded but does anyone know any decent MSPs I can email who might actually challenge this bullshit?

anon444877 · 04/01/2021 13:21

I recommend yak trax - you need thrive metal ice grippers, make such a difference on ice @Perihelion

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/01/2021 13:26

It might be worth having a look at your area msps if your constituency one is a waste of space. This link allows you to put in your post code and get your representatives:

I'm going to have to rely on updates from you miserable bunch Smile i cannot stand that woman and her sanctimonious shit. I can't bear to listen to Boris either mind, that would be a hard one to pick.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/01/2021 13:26

If they're extending it wilk be at least feb break I reckon.

Dollybagwash · 04/01/2021 13:29

Thanks @WaxOnFeckOff he's a bloody SNP 🤦‍♀️ not a chance in hell of getting anywhere

anon444877 · 04/01/2021 13:33

Did anyone see the economist magazine cover with a person on a lead? It feels like that doesn't it. Made me laugh a bit.

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/01/2021 13:34

@dollybagwash. Interestingly, my constituency msp and mp are snp but none of my area msps are. I have 4 Conservative, 2 Labour and 1 Green.

Yeah same I just want to sit and keep up to date with what’s going on and they are constantly mithering me. Not their fault but omg it’s driving me mad.

Cismyfatarse · 04/01/2021 13:36

Radio 4 Just now suggests full Scottish lockdown from midnight. No other details.

Bodes well for the next month really doesn’t it

Dollybagwash · 04/01/2021 13:37

@WaxOnFeckOff can I contact them? Jamie Greene is one. Now I am not a Tory in anyway shape or form but he seems up and coming and might challenge? He was good on the school stuff in the past. Sorry I'm totally picking your brain to distract myself

sweetkitty · 04/01/2021 13:41

Wonder what this will mean for ASN schools then? Will it be the same “left up to parents to decide?” Or the strongly worded we will be open letter but will be providing a bespoke home learning package should you consider not sending your child?? So reduced hours/part time/blended learning for some? It’s so disruptive having some children in school some of the time, making up home learning packs for others and not seeing others for weeks.

Clarity would be good

Wbeezer · 04/01/2021 13:42

@Cismyfatarse i just heard that too but nothing on the BBC news website yet.

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/01/2021 13:43

I'm sure you can dolly, contact points on the link. I've no direct recent experience but when DC were in primary school, the parent council had a campaign for something and contacted the area msps and got a good response. I guess they are all meant to represent everyone and also shy bairns get nay Sweeties

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/01/2021 13:45

I wouldn't worry about your political leanings but we certainly had more support on an issue from our previous tory mp than we have from the SNP one that was moved in. I support neither.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/01/2021 13:48

I've heard a lot of people say that scotgov, sturgeon etc are doing better because they're communicating clearly. To begin with I agreed but I think it's falling apart a bit now - they're changing the rules so often and not sticking to their own guidance and as a result people don't know which way is up. On a call with my team before Christmas, all smart folk, several had travelled overseas to family as they didn't realise it wasn't allowed, others weren't even sure what tier they were in. The clarity of the initial lockdown has been totally lost

fluffyugg · 04/01/2021 13:50

@StatisticallyChallenged maybe why they are going for full lockdown now...suppose it's easier to understand, you can't do anything or go anywhere Confused

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/01/2021 13:51

Possibly, but they're going to have to work very hard to get the message out again.

anon444877 · 04/01/2021 13:53

BBC scotland political editor predicting full lock down and end of month for schools back.

We got much more support from our Tory MSP at the start of lockdown too. We emailed them all, he was the one who really engaged and helped.
runningpink · 04/01/2021 13:53

I feel sick

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/01/2021 13:56

I think the elected members of other parties seem to be able to operate autonomously and communicate directly more easily rather than waiting for the party view.

Cismyfatarse · 04/01/2021 13:57

I was in a teacher focus group with Jamie Green about SQA in about May. He was really good. The other MSP who was there arrived late and left early. Can't remember her name but SNP.

Teachers were furious about the lack of subject specific advice. This time we have been promised more support but I am not holding my breath.
