I don't think it'll be like this until everyone is vaccinated, so long as the groups most affected are protected as soon as they can be then hopefully it'll return to more normality for the rest of us.

Chin up @rookiemere Thanks

mondaywine · 02/01/2021 17:20

I’m the same @rookiemere. Was June, now January 2022. Not sure I want to even think about that tbh.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/01/2021 17:38

I'm in the January if you're lucky cohort too. So depressing

I think they will loosen up once the at risk groups are tackled. At that point it is just a nasty bug with a pretty low death rate which doesn't balance against the economic and sociak consequences of lockdown

fluffyugg · 02/01/2021 17:41

How can it be longer to wait than the calculation last week when we now have another vaccine to use? Hopefully the calculator is not exactly accurate Confused

PurpleFrog · 02/01/2021 17:45

Presumably, the calculator takes account of the current rate of carrying out the vaccinations and with the number of holidays in the past couple of weeks that will have skewed the results.

fluffyugg · 02/01/2021 17:46

Maybe the new approach of giving lots more people the single dose has changed it too?

WouldBeGood · 02/01/2021 17:46

Not about schools, but there’s reassuring news on children on the Royal College of Paediatricians Twitter feed

ItsIgginningtolookalotlikeXmas · 02/01/2021 17:47

Good lord that calculator is awful Sad Last time I did one it said June. Now it says one year from now. I'm in my 50s and teach teenagers Confused

runningpink · 02/01/2021 18:07

Between January 2022 and June 2022 for me!! 😩🥲

That is good news, thanks
WaxOnFeckOff · 02/01/2021 18:11

Re pie, ours was huge and info said 40-45mins. I took pastry off and it took about 15 mins and the meat heated in the pot about the same time then I reconstructed it.

Bikingbear · 02/01/2021 18:12

Running we must be the same age - surely to God we won't still be in this boat in a years time - I can't deal with that

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/01/2021 18:15

Dec 21/Jan 22 for me. DSs looking at June 22. DH been offered his twice but isn't taking it yet as he has weird allergies and reacted badly to the flu jab twice in a row and doesn't take that anymore either.

RaraRachael · 02/01/2021 18:17

Our steak pie came from our local butcher. It was meant to serve 4 but we ate it between us and it was amazing. Never made my own as I can't see the point when it probably wouldn't be as good as theirs Grin.

No sausages in it though - not a thing in the NE.

runningpink · 02/01/2021 18:31

@Bikingbear early 30s here with no health issues.
I do fear the Nicola won’t relax things for a long time. England will be partying away and we will still be made to love like this.
But she surely can’t keep this up until June 2022.

runningpink · 02/01/2021 18:33

We are also getting close to filling up this thread. Have we got a new thread name ready yet? I can’t remember

Bikingbear · 02/01/2021 18:37

I'm 40s and got the same dates - we'll assume the apps knackered!

I hope SNP don't make it beyond the next election never mind a year.

titsbumfannythelot · 02/01/2021 18:37

I haven't seen anything "s-tiering towards vaccination"?

titsbumfannythelot · 02/01/2021 18:38

Although that thread will need to last until June 2022 for me so perhaps not

RaspberryCoulis · 02/01/2021 18:46

Same as most of you, the calculator previously said summer this year, it's now saying as late as June 2022.

Fuck that for a game of soldiers.

Bikingbear · 02/01/2021 18:50

Game of tiers?

Rae36 · 02/01/2021 18:51

Someone suggested Level 42 as a thread title a while back? I have no imagination of my own though and can't be arsed trying to be witty right now.

I'm holding out for Feb half term for the high schoolers but am hoping primaries might get back sooner which would make a world of difference to me work-wise.

I have just realised I've been wearing my jumper inside out all day and no-one has told me. Good job I can't see anyone outside my family so I haven't embarrassed myself.

titsbumfannythelot · 02/01/2021 18:55

@Bikingbear

Game of tiers?
Love this
StatisticallyChallenged · 02/01/2021 18:58

"Same shit, different year"

NearWildHeaven · 02/01/2021 19:01

I got the same. Absolutely depressing Sad
