Yeah I know.

Bet sturgeon wished she had thought of that

Aisles of delight in Aldi

anon444877 · 23/10/2020 17:06

You're right, Wales is worse. My aged auntie can't get supermarket slots near her either so is going at 5am to wait for it to open to minimise her risk.

I've not heard of this informal childcare loophole before - i don't personally know anyone that admits to doing this but I can see it might be genius. Is how grandparents are allowed to have their grandkids round if the handover is done outside?

WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 17:41

@anon444877 what a shame.

I’m still shopping online for aged relatives and have booked slots as far as I can, just in case. Last time I had to find randoms on Facebook to get them groceries!

Goingdooolally · 23/10/2020 17:44

On a lighter note- I’d be gutted to miss out on those middle Lidl aisles 😁

WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 17:59

@Goingdooolally imagine the horror if the aisle of shite was covered like that in wales so you could still see, but not buy 😱

Rae36 · 23/10/2020 18:06

It's 6.05pm and I'm in a restaurant in Chester with a beer. I'd have to go home now in the central belt, right? Makes my beer taste all the better.

you can't have alcohol inside anywhere in Scotland at the moment.
anon444877 · 23/10/2020 18:14

And definitely don't risk a second beer or you'll start hugging people in the restaurant and where will that end?

anon444877 · 23/10/2020 18:15

I'd be gutted to be kept from the Lidl middle aisles.

Excuse me I’ve got a lot of useful stuff in those middle aisles - lilo, cycling shorts, lamp, nasal hair trimmer Grin

NotAnActualSheep · 23/10/2020 18:26

nasal hair trimmer
Grin
But surely no one, no matter how Welsh, would claim that wasn't an essential purchase!

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/10/2020 18:34
@WaxOnFeckOff I’m convinced it always rains on that road.

Glad you made it back safely
Thank you, agree it always rains at some point but visibility was horrendous for a 100 miles or more, cleared up near Glasgow so was just spray after that.

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/10/2020 18:35

I have some in my fridge, i'm expecting a police raid shortly.

i bought more bacardi 2 days before that announcement - was ever so glad!! i'm having prosecco this evening though... i'm sitting in a room all by myself though so hopefully any inappropriate close contact will be avoided,
WaxOnFeckOff · 23/10/2020 19:07

Is that not the perfect time for inappropriate close contact? :o :o :o Blush

WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 19:11

@Goingdooolally I love the aisle of shite!! Some of my best things are from there

Oops sorry! :o

WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 22:12

Does she wear a mask in these briefings?

littlbrowndog · 23/10/2020 22:38

She doesn’t. She just blah blah on like she has done for the last feels like 20 years

Is there are way out yet. ?

I feel so sad fo4 all the business that spent money making their places safe.

Kicked in the teeth they were

But the aisles of delights are still open 👏👏😂

I love these aisles. The year I got the thick socks that lasted 2 years

Never seen them again 😭

WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 22:50

The politicians seem so hypocritical whist preaching the value of masks and stuff to us plebs.

Cutlery has been my best middle aisle buy. Well fancy and comes in a special case.

throwingawaymyshot · 24/10/2020 07:27

I hope Helensburgh pubs get closed. Sorry for the businesses but my DF, who thinks covid is a pile of pish, is travelling there every single day to meet his pals who also travel there every single day and have their day long drinking sesh. Yes, I've said to him, as has my DM, he will not listen.
He did say however, that people are travelling from Glasgow and further to Helensburgh for a drink. So I hope Helensburgh gets shut down just to keep my DF indoors. Having a vulnerable daughter means nothing to him. It's all pish.
That said my DF has nine lives. Has survived a few bad accidents so that's probably influencing his thinking.

RaspberryCoulis · 24/10/2020 09:18

The last things I bought in Aldi's random aisle of tat (as we call it in this house) were a wok and a tie-dye kit.

Hopefully sturgeon will see the reaction to the hazard tape across the "non-essential" aisles in Wales and realise that it's a bad move.

Svelteinmydreams · 24/10/2020 09:44

@throwingawaymyshot 💐That sounds shit. Sorry he’s being an arse to you both.

BlueThursday · 24/10/2020 11:07

That’s guising aff too.

Not that we were going to be doing it anyway; that’s us to isolate now Sad
