So the 6th of August is fast approaching... here is the 2019 thread.

Ds was sitting a mixture of highers and Nat5's. So we'll see what this year brings.

I'm just grateful it's not 2 lots like last year as it was a mare.

If I hear "this time tomorrow" one more time... Cupcake making with nephews is distracting DD4 and Binge watching Love Island keeping DD3 sane- only just. Going to be a long day .

OtraCosaMariposa · 05/08/2019 14:01

What time should we expect emails/texts tomorrow? (first time going through this, DS so laid back he's almost horizontal.)

dementedpixie · 05/08/2019 14:10

The link I copied and pasted earlier ^^ says 8am

Superjaggy · 05/08/2019 14:57

Hello all, a bit late to the party but DD is awaiting Nat 5 results. She worked really hard and will be disappointed if she doesn't get 6 As... I am trying to manage her expectations a little!

Thankfully she's gone to the cinema with pals so we don't have to watch her pacing up and down today, although I sense a long evening approaching Grin

Good luck everyone! The anticipation is almost always worse than the event Smile

Superjaggy · 05/08/2019 14:59

Also she signed up for text and emails but our postie has been here before 8am for the last couple of weeks, so we really have no idea which way she'll find out first!

OtraCosaMariposa · 05/08/2019 15:11

We don't get post until after lunchtime. DS is hoping for As and Bs and to be honest he's more than capable of all As. But the effort he put in wasn't what it could be.

Really for him the key result is English. He's not doing it for Higher as he struggles so much with it but will still need a solid pass at Nat 5. The subjects he's taking on for Higher don't matter much, it's next year that's the really important one. Just hope he gets a rocket up his arse by then.

My nerves are kicking in. It will just be me and ds as Dd working (thank god) and dh working too.

DD is waiting too, she said Royal Mail co-ordinates on exam day so results come early but don't know if that is true.

She said she didn't know whether she had signed up for text alerts or not.

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/08/2019 16:37

2 Bs or not 2 Bs? that is the question...

Had enough now, why does it take so long?

Alittewornout · 05/08/2019 17:09

Just in from work and catching up with you all. Dd appears calmer today, I think she is resigned to her fate!! Wax with you in the fed up feeling. Keeping my fingers crossed for your lad. So close ladies!!x

Willyoubuymeahouseofgold · 05/08/2019 17:23

Good luck to all the expectant young people 🍀🍀🍀🍀and hang in there to the forebearing Mums and Dads 🤞🌟🤞🌟🤞🌟🤞🌟🤞🌟🤞
My laid back girl has no real idea what she has signed up for in terms of delivery 🙈.. long wait til postman at worst!,

IHaveBrilloHair · 05/08/2019 17:53

Dd's are coming by post, and she's coming over to collect them.
She was upbeat at the weekend, we went to a party at my friend's house and they all said how great she was, though she suffered yesterday as she drank beer vodka, gin, tequila and prosecco, ouch!
Not much of each thing though, she also agreed to getting together more often with an old school friend who won't socialise and is becoming depressed so I was proud of her for that.

Anyway, all she needs is a C in the pesky NAT5 maths and she's sorted.

Hope everyone else gets what they need, but will check in tomorrow

celtiethree · 05/08/2019 17:58

Good luck everyone hope all your DC get what they need!

OOAOML · 05/08/2019 18:48

DD can't remember if she registered for text or email and as her phone needs a repair we had a load of faff trying to get her sim into an old phone - after she wedged it in this involved attempts with tweezers followed by unscrewing the back and thankfully working now. Wish we'd had similar in my day - grew up in the country with abysmal post and used to get mine in the afternoon when most of my friends got theirs first thing in the morning.
