Are you happy?

We've gone from SNP to Tory by a massive 10,000 votes. i voted Tory for the first time to out SNP. I have no interest in indyref2. I had to vote tactically and I think 10,000 others may have done the same.

TheScottishPlay · 09/06/2017 19:20

Angus went SNP to Tory.

Ginmakesitallok · 09/06/2017 19:23

Well I'm just relieved that a nearby labour candidate didn't get in. They are a total self absorbed bullying ass hole.

DanyellasDonkey · 09/06/2017 19:40

Conservative gain from SNP with a big majority Grin.

I'm delighted - serves NS right for constantly going on about Indyref2.

Can't stand all the sore loser SNP supporters on FB though.

Heatherbell1978 · 09/06/2017 20:52

SNP to Labour and I voted Labour. Very happy.

HamletsSister · 09/06/2017 20:56

SNP hold. Gutted. Voted LibDem as it used to be a safe seat for them. In the end, Conservatives came 2nd with LibDems just behind. Very few votes for Labour and then 2 joke candidates (Ronnie the Crofter....)

But, the look on the faces of Salmond and Robertson was absolutely wonderful. Very, very sweet moment after all their bluster and posturing and bullying.

Groovee · 10/06/2017 07:06

Well our MP prior to 2015 was Lib Dem. He was ousted then for SNP who then was suspended from the party but stayed as an independent candidate. Now got a Lib Dem MP.

putdownyourphone · 10/06/2017 07:08

Still green here (guess the consistencyGrin)

putdownyourphone · 10/06/2017 07:09

Oops just realised you're talking about Scotland - ignore!

GloriaV · 10/06/2017 07:54

We used to always be Tory here (decades ago) and we are back in now. I think there were boundary changes which might have affected the result as there is a huge rural area in the constituency now which will balance the Lab votes from the main town.

Bejazzled · 10/06/2017 16:16

Massive swing to conservative from SNP so very happy voter here.

Message to Nicola Sturgeon has been sent, signed, sealed and delivered !

helenfagain · 10/06/2017 16:21

Huge swing from snp to Tory, prominent SNP member ousted from his seat. Can't say I'm not pleased. Grin

DanyellasDonkey · 10/06/2017 16:44

Really fed up of seeing posts like "Anyone in Scotland who votes Tory should hang "there" heads in shame or has blood on "there" hands etc etc. It was the same at the Independence referendum. No voters being bullied by SNP supporters - don't remember seeing any of it in reverse.

Apparently a local business received hate messages because Ruth Davidson visited it on the campaign trail. Strangely Nicola Sturgeon visited another one and nobody complained about that.

Think I need to do some defriending!

SaorAlbaGuBrath · 10/06/2017 16:47

DanyellasDonkey it works both ways let me tell you. So making out that all SNP voters are illiterate yobs attacking poor little No voters is not only deliberately insulting, it's also inaccurate. There are scumbags on all sides, who will attack people at will. But they don't all vote SNP.

DanyellasDonkey · 10/06/2017 16:49

I'm saying that that's my experience and my opinion. You're entitled to yours of course.

SaorAlbaGuBrath · 10/06/2017 16:53

I've seen plenty from all sides, none of which covered anyone in glory.

AmIthatbloodycold · 10/06/2017 16:53

Dantella, absolutely right. And it WAS the same after the referendum. There was no gloating from No voters, but the insults from SNP voters were, and still are, disgusting.

Ours came down, in the end, to 21 votes. By the narrowest of margins, we have voted back in a useless, largely absent MP, whose majority was slashed from 10,000. So close.

SaorAlbaGuBrath · 10/06/2017 16:56

So you missed the riots of Rangers fans waving union flags and singing about being "up to our knees in Fenian blood" and belting out God Save the Queen after the Indy ref? Not quite sure how, it was all over the news. Hmm

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 10/06/2017 18:20

If we did miss it we have certainly been told enough about it by Nats.

What your point is I'm not clear.

Still if you want to descend to that level it was edifying seeing one of my husband's idiotic relatives whining about selfish coffin dodgers voting no- that would include his own very generous grandmother and uncle.

AmIthatbloodycold · 10/06/2017 18:47

I didn't see any of that Saor. I'm in the east, so not really up on what happens in George square

I can't stand all this "westmonster", evil shite. It's so childish

I am proud of being Scottish and British and get mightily pissed off with the insults.

AmIthatbloodycold · 10/06/2017 18:49

And Saor, I would agree that not all SNP voters are illiterate yobs. I know lots of them who aren't. But in my experience, most illiterate yobs are SNP voters.

SaorAlbaGuBrath · 10/06/2017 20:42

Aye ok, you're all intelligent, calm, non insulting, tolerant people who never ever resort to petty name calling and looking down your nose at SNP voters. We're all just absolute savages who barely know what day it is. You win. Except I don't really care.

AgentCooper · 10/06/2017 21:04

Mine went from SNP to Conservative. First time in my 31 years that I've ever lived in a Tory constituency Sad but we are new to the area so I don't really know what this place has been like politically in the past.

I'm already pissed off - Ruth Davidson assuring voters that LGBTQ rights won't be affected by the DUP coalition. I care very, very deeply about LGBTQ rights but why wasn't she asking about the rights of women re: abortion too?

I think the SNP misjudged this gravely. Both Labour and the Tories here presented themselves as 'the only way to stop the SNP and another referendum.' Most of my friends voted Yes last time and quite a few thought it was way, way too soon for another referendum. I personally have never voted SNP but they were doing a decent job in my last constituency.

Ankleswingers · 10/06/2017 21:11

Tory hold here.

I live in a very safe Tory seat.

soupmaker · 10/06/2017 22:44

The incumbent SNP MP was returned, only just. The Labour candidate ran him close. I'd have been happy with either winning. I

Nyx · 11/06/2017 10:29

"Dantella, absolutely right. And it WAS the same after the referendum. There was no gloating from No voters, but the insults from SNP voters were, and still are, disgusting. "

Most of this thread has been the most blatant gloating by anti-snp voters I've ever seen, it's difficult to tell that the SNP still has more seats in Scotland than the other parties combined! But we are being told here that there is no gloating from no voters. Aye, OK, par for the course.
