Are you happy?

We've gone from SNP to Tory by a massive 10,000 votes. i voted Tory for the first time to out SNP. I have no interest in indyref2. I had to vote tactically and I think 10,000 others may have done the same.

Ours was Conservative. Very happy with that Smile

MargotsDevil · 09/06/2017 07:05

Swing to Tory. Delighted that SNP have had such a wake up call; hopefully that's the end of the calls for a further independence referendum.

raspberryblush23 · 09/06/2017 07:08

SNP held their seat in my constituency, I quite like our MP so I'm happy. Not so happy about the rise of Conservatives in Scotland Sad.

Unfortunately I doubt it. Even before I went to bed last night there was an SNP woman on BBC reacting to the the exit polls saying they were still the largest party, still more seats than anyone else yadda yadda.

They will NEVER give up.

SaorAlbaGuBrath · 09/06/2017 07:14

SNP held our local seat. Tbh it seems like indyref 2 is on hold for now, but I can cope with that as long as May et al don't have a majority to shove through horrendous cuts and a disastrous Brexit deal. Gutted the SNP lost so many votes, but heartened by the fact that Corbyn gained so many. I'd have taken losing more seats rather than the Tories getting an outright majority.

flippinada · 09/06/2017 07:18

SNP hold but only just by 1000 votes.

AmIthatbloodycold · 09/06/2017 07:23

Our SNP MP held but only by about 30 votes over the Tory. Last month SNP lost control of our local council too.

That and other close votes show how important every vote is

JustMyLuckUnfortunately · 09/06/2017 07:27

My area is still SNP but less popular. I'm not supportive of SNP

n0ne · 09/06/2017 07:29

Labour with a tiny majority vs Conservatives last time, landslide this time! Polled double the Tory vote! I'm thrilled. My MP also defied the party whip to vote against Brexit, so I luffs her Grin

MargotsDevil · 09/06/2017 07:30

AmI Perth? It was predicted to go and our constituency to stay SNP but it's happened the other way round it would appear.

Macarena a girl can hope...

kaytee87 · 09/06/2017 07:39

SNP to lib dem, we got Jo Swinson back. I'm happy, hope indyref2 gets dropped.

GloriaV · 09/06/2017 07:43

Whayyyyy gone from SNP to Tory! who'd have thunk it.

MrsJayy · 09/06/2017 07:51

Labour to Snp by a mile

AmIthatbloodycold · 09/06/2017 07:52

Margot yes. I know for many, many people how hard the decision was this time.

YerAWizardHarry · 09/06/2017 07:55

Kept our SNP seat.

LordPercy · 09/06/2017 07:58

We went back to Labour from the SNP. Delighted.

sugarmonster64 · 09/06/2017 08:00

Another Tory constituency here. The writing was on the wall after the local elections - the SNP have clearly lost support for independence, they got something like 38% total vote so if you used that as a proxy for an independence referendum they're nowhere near. I couldn't understand some of the comments last night made by Salmond and Sturgeon about how the last minute Corbyn rally clearly impacted people's votes - yes if it was a Labour v SNP two horse race but the Tories were the surprise package.

They lost more seats than any other party last night (I think, I've not slept much) and are still spinning it as a great result for them and they won the election in scotland. Mmmmmm

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/06/2017 08:01

Labour. And am Labour voter.

Quite pissed off with those who voted Tory purely against SNP and did nothing except harm Labour chances of getting overall majority/coalition and get more awful Tories into power.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/06/2017 08:03

Suckered in by Tories saying this was just about independence

MrsJayy · 09/06/2017 08:06

Well arse that I am i was reading the council election . We got tory from labour

n0ne · 09/06/2017 08:31

Sorry, didn't spot this was on ScotsNet. As you were.

Blizy · 09/06/2017 08:36

I'm shocked at the Tory voters in Scotland!
My area went from SNP to Labour, I'm a labour supporter.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/06/2017 08:44

Its a worry isnt it. Scotland has been shielded from the worst cuts and NHS effects of Tories so far..maybe not now.

MacarenaFerreiro · 09/06/2017 08:44

Are they really life long COnservatives though? or are they people who (like me) felt that sending out a big NO to Indyref2 was what they wanted to achieve with their vote, and thought voting Conservative was the best way to do that? I'm a lib dem, always have been, but would have voted Conservative if I were living in Stirling, Moray or East Ren.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 09/06/2017 08:45

So short sighted.
