Edinburgh meet up?

On a couple of other threads it seems like a few of us have recently moved to Edinburgh and fancied a meet up. Some longstanding Edinburghers also said they would be up for a pint/wine/dram/coffee and cake to say hi.

I said I would be happy to organise it when I got here if no one else wanted to and well, I am here! The bags are (sort of) unpacked, DS has started school, and my new job at uni starts soon.

Please post if you want to come for a meet!

Re a Christmas meet up, years ago we had a successful meetup on a Saturday at Wighams in November with their Christmas menu.

I organised it even though I live in Glasgow. Quite a few Weegies came over - we like days out!

Got the last train back having enjoyed quite a lot of Prosecco

I once tried to organise a work night out at Wighams.
No one knew where I meant.

I kept referring to it as Wigwams!

Hope there is another night out.

Sorry I didn't make it. Forgotten how tiring late pregnancy is, but should be back on form by Christmas (crosses fingers for a baby that sleeps and feeds well!).

Would love the cat cafe, DH promised me a cat if I moved from London to Edinburgh, but then I got pregnant with DS1 and that put it to rest for a while. Luckily DS seems obsessed with the idea of a pet cat despite DH trying to persuade him otherwise!

I'll be resident from 5th December so I'll lurk 'till then x

After all the votes for Portobello, none of the houses were up to scratch.
We've ended up plumping for a fab little village on the other side of the city!

I won't jinx it but we're due to exchange contracts in a few weeks time - 9 weeks to go though... it seems so far away.

How's the new job? What's the Uni like?

Stupid effing jeffing nightmare of a house fell through so we've got to start all over again. We're driving up on Friday to see 4 new houses this weekend. Gah.

Hello :) I remember your previous thread! I also moved here with family from Bristol in August to start work at the uni. Did the meet go ahead? I'd love to come along to the next one should there be another :)
