You kept the whole Mumsnet community on the edge of our seats back in November with the story of your toxic MIL forcing your DH to keep a family christening secret from you.

When the thread finished your DH had confronted his mum, you'd gone to the christening anyway, and MIL had ignored your dd. Then your dad had to have a heart op, MIL was, you suspected, pretending to be ill, and you'd just found out you were pregnant with DC2 (congratulations!).

Well you know how nosy us mumsnetters are!!! Please bring us up to date - what happened next?

...hoping this story has a happy ending.....

yes please to the lamb curry! It's mighty cold now, DH has made some chili jelly, we can have that as a pickle with the curry - that all right with everyone?

I've got Glenmorangie to help drive out the cold.

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/02/2009 16:12

Awww - you're lovely, overweight!!!{{hug}}

I'm going to get on with the ironing in a few minutes - when I've recovered from the ordeal of mucking out ds3's bedroom. I raked out half a bin-bag full of sweetie wrappers from underneath his bed and behind the pc; found nearly a pound in loose change and, best of all, a wizened satsuma and two processed cheese slices down behind his bed!!

But now his room is clean and tidy, and my friend will be able to sleep there tomorrow night without having to have any special inoculations!!

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 06/02/2009 16:13

Am joining this too. I remember this too. Poor woman. We need an update though.

JustKeepSwimming · 06/02/2009 16:54

Come on THUM!

Though i am enjoying all the goodies

FairyLightsForever · 06/02/2009 17:28

Yum HG! I'll hold the megaphone if I can have curry too?

BitOfsexyFunbutnotupthebum · 06/02/2009 17:59

UPDATE FROM THUM!!!!!!

I hope you are not too engrossed in your knitting/ironing/whiskey-drinking to miss this!!

MNHQ kindly passed on our thread to THUM, and she replied to them and said she was happy to send us a message, although she would prefer not to post, as she wants to keep her anonymity etc, as she is still here under a new name. I have copied and pasted from my e-mail, so ladies,at last we can roll up our sleeping bags now, and fondly remember this as the true spirit of MN at its best...funny, warm, supportive, sometimes outraged, and always on hand with a drink and some sisterly solidarity:

"I am now on MN under a different name and really don't want to go over everything again that happened last year with my MIL. Could you maybe let the ladies and well wishers on the thread know that all is okay. I am okay and to thank them very very much for thinking of me and my family and for all of their advice on the original threads. I keep seeing the thread pop up in active convos and don't want the ladies to think that I am ignoring them. I don't want to give away my new name. DH is now on here, lol, and I like some anonymity.

Dh and I are okay after everything that has happened, well we are now anyway.

Thankyou
THUM"

Racers · 06/02/2009 18:44

Great news!

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 06/02/2009 18:55

Great news THUM, am happy for you.

BUT.......

.... Does this mean we have to return to real life. I so wanted some Lamb Curry!

thumbwitch · 06/02/2009 19:02

Hurrah for THUM! And BoF for getting the smoke signals message to us.

AnyFuckerForAShiteSoppyCard · 06/02/2009 20:30

OOoo, smashing!

Does this mean we all have to go home?. I was enjoying camping out under the starts, pissing into carrier bags and enjoying handouts of food and booze........

I feel strangely bereft

ilovemydogandMrObama · 06/02/2009 21:03

What is THUM's DH doing on the site?

(Wasn't he only allowed to read previous thread by invitation???)

springlamb · 06/02/2009 21:08

Thank God for that!
You've had me in fits. It was so like the good old days back at Greenham Common.
Do it again, go on.

LoveMyLapTop · 06/02/2009 21:14

Oh glad all is well but would have liked to have learnt that the MIL had suffered some sort of comeuppance

Stayingsunnygirl · 06/02/2009 21:19

I think we should keep the party going for a while - in celebration of the fact that things are going well for THUM now.

Perhaps if we leave a bottle of champagne in a corner, she can nip in and get it sometime....

I'm going to miss this too - it's so much better than real life, with messy kids and ironing and stuff. In fact, I may sneak back here from time to time and see if anyone fancies a cuppa or some tunnocks teacakes (Tescos have delivered 10 this afternoon). You are all wonderful women, and I honestly feel like I've made some new friends here.

And overweightnotoverdrawn - we'll stay in touch for sure!

LoveMyLapTop · 06/02/2009 21:19

bump for those eho missed it

Ponders · 06/02/2009 21:19

Nice to hear everything is so good

(but very disappointed not to have more MIL attempts at manipulation to relish )
