Thought I'd do a little update for all of those invested in my other thread, which I'm not linking!

Tonnes of messages Monday /Tuesday and a phone call at Tuesday lunchtime then all quiet; I messaged him early Tuesday afternoon with a choice of 3 restaurants for the Friday evening and nothing, zilch, nada...guess he didn't fancy any of the them 😆

Bit disappointed but it's fine, I saw something I liked, I went for it, it didn't work out, that's life. Thank you, next!

Ah no! That is so disappointing. I read your last thread and was looking forward to hearing about your date. I think it's great that you went for it, unfortunately sometimes these things work out and sometimes they don't. Take yourself out on a date instead!

AllezAllezPronto · 24/09/2026 07:20

Well, it's only Thursday morning so there is still time. He might come back to you.

If it doesn't work out will some of the 'sceptics' get some reprieve for their concerns about him?

BigSpongyHelmet · 24/09/2026 07:28

I think after how this started, he's not going to message now!

Yeah I'm expecting lots of "I told you so" comments and this is my fault for messaging him, and talking to strange men in bars blah blah blah.

But despite what some of the posters said, I wasn't gullible, I made a choice and it hasn't worked out...such is life.

His loss

Well done for going for it. I read your previous thread. I don't know if I'd have messaged (I do, I wouldnt have! 😄)

But I don't think you were gullible and I don't think you deserve any, "I told you so," comments either.

Whatever is going on at his end, that's him. Nothing to do with you.

As you say, that's life 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pineapplesunshine · 24/09/2026 07:54

I read your earlier thread (although not every one of the messages saying message him / don’t message him, when you already had 😆).

I think you’ve got a great attitude. It’s his loss.

And, you’re absolutely right to have messaged and taken the approach you have - you’ve lost nothing and have no regrets / doubts.

Onwards and upwards !

DancingLions · 24/09/2026 08:59

I read your other thread, though didn't comment. Sorry it hasn't worked out. But it didn't hurt to take a chance. Some of the replies on your other thread were absolutely batshit! At least now you know whereas if you hadn't messaged, you might still be wondering about him.

TwentyDunhill · 24/09/2026 09:03

Thanks for making another thread! Sorry he's gone quiet, his loss for sure!

I suspect we haven't heard the last of the bat shitters and chip pissers 😆

Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

You'd have always wondered... now you don't have to...

Nightswimmer80 · 24/09/2026 09:11

Oh no 😢 I was really looking forward to reading how it went. Maybe something urgent has cropped up his end and he'll be in contact soon.

MegJoBethandAmytoo · 24/09/2026 11:12

That is disappointing - his loss.

Purplecatshopaholic · 24/09/2026 11:28

Good on you for going for it. More of us should do that. Now instead of wondering What If, you know he’s a tosser. Defo his loss op.

Autumncoffee · 24/09/2026 13:07

@BigSpongyHelmet Some people are just fun sponges...

I did read your other thread and its a shame you havent heard anything back but definitely his loss. At least your not left with the question of what could have been!

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 24/09/2026 14:55

I also read your other thread and thought a lot of the responses were a bit off.

Anyway, well done to you for sending that message and giving it a go.
And at least, now you know! You won't always be wondering 'what if'.

PinkMagpie · 24/09/2026 15:09

You gave it a go OP and that is great. Whatever is going on with him is his own stuff. Better for him to pull back now then further down the line when you are more invested

Hibiscus27 · 24/09/2026 15:14

Thanks for updating - totally his loss, you sound awesome. And was def the right thing to message him! Onwards and upwards...

CrawlingBackToYou · 24/09/2026 17:03

Aww hey OP I was lurking on your last thread.

Why don't you just message him first. Sorry not funny 😬

Nah fuck him, looks like he’s a bit of a prick after all. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

cabus · 24/09/2026 17:09

I would have done exactly the same as you OP.

DD says, 'Expect a repeat performance if you give 'em a second chance'

Oh well......

whippersnapper55 · 24/09/2026 17:35

His loss OP, you sound hilarious! 😂

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 24/09/2026 17:51

‘Life is there for the taking’

You did the right thing, some you win and some you lose 🤷‍♀️.

But I don’t think he’s a ‘tosser’ or a ‘prick’ or that ‘it’s his loss’, I just think he’s a man who went on holiday and met a woman but didn’t want to follow up with texting or meeting up and that’s fine, that’s a normal result.

Nevernotgoingto · 24/09/2026 17:57

I still think you did the right thing as you would have always been thinking, did he have your correct number/has something terrible happened to him/has he lost his phone…?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 24/09/2026 17:58

As they say - you only regret the things you didn't do, not the things you did.

You gave it a shot and it didn't work out for whatever reason, but at least there's closure and not 'what if'.

But he said he wanted to meet! He said he was going to book a hotel in Manchester for two nights. If that was all lies then I think he is a prick. He has every right to change his mind but if it was only ever a holiday thing then he needed to be clearer IMO.

ThatAquaRobin · 24/09/2026 18:20

You definitely did the right thing by trying. You would have always wondered otherwise. Good for you giving it a go 😀
But he's now shown you who he is.
Twice he's disappeared (the gap while he was still away and now this)
Better to know this now than when you're even more invested.

StasisMom · 24/09/2026 18:25

I read your last thread as well and you do sound fab! It’s really no reflection on you, hope you know that and fwiw, I think you did the right thing messaging him. Onwards and upwards now!
