Would you go on holiday with an ex and your children. Not friends bu any means but civil enough. No new partners to worry about. Wouldnt want to take them abroad on my own. Has anyone done this? How did it go?

I don’t see why not. As long as you make sure there are no arguments or awkward atmosphere during the holidays I am the kids will love it. I have a friend doing it and they never had issues.

I’ve done this not because I’m to anxious to go away alone, and more because why not… dc grew up perfectly fine and were never confused or given mixed messages.

i disagree with comments saying you aren’t a family unit anymore, to the dc you are their family unit and both of you will forever be their support team.

You should defo work on your confidence of venturing alone with them aboard so you’re not reliant on another person

if there’s a risk of arguing, drama and fall outs or if either of you still have ‘feelings’ or hope to rekindle it’s probably not a good idea for the children sake

however if the relationship is over, enough time has passed, dc have a good relationship with dad and you both have respect for each other then go for it (sort the logistical details prior to boarding though)

Yeah I wouldn’t argue with him, we’d probably do separate things a lot and just a few things together. part of it is for me as well as the kids, I need to go abroad again I can’t face not having another holiday again. So someone else there would be relaxing and enjoyable rather than just stressful trying to keep everyone safe.

It depends on the relationship you have with your ex. We've done it every year, through our separation and even after our divorce, and we've carried on ever since. I don't see why not, but we have a good co-parenting relationship.

For me, it's also about teaching my son that you don't have to be in a relationship with someone to work together for the sake of your children.

I mean I wouldn’t say we are friends by any stretch but I am willing to put things aside for the children. We wouldnt argue and there wouldnt be any hostility

I would BUT only as long as you can act like two grown up adult friends.
