Went on a date today and found out he used 10yo pic

How common is that? Matched on an app, went for a coffee date. When I arrived I immediately noticed that a guy looks older and much less fit than his pics (fit in pics and overweight in real life) So annoyed. Before the meeting he also gave me a link to his linkedin and his pic there is also at least 10yo.
First time happened to me. People usually do upload flattering pics but this is outright lie.

I don't get the lying about age, height, weight

Why lie ?

I am just myself, take it or leave it !

Agree. Back when i tried OLD I used up to date unfiltered photos (including full length ones) my correct age and height ,

Why waste anyone’s time including my own going on dates under false pretences?

I don't get people using very heavy filters on all their photos.

Normal people, unknown, non-celebs who are so filtered. You'd think they realise that it makes their real face even more of a shock when people see them in real life?

It brings attention to their real age or real face a lot more than if they were using normal photos, so who knows.

That would be because under six foot is an automatic rejection. It’s a shame there just aren’t enough 6’6, tattooed, rugby playing men that earn 200k a year.

If there were i doubt these men would want to meet in a 32 year old woman who is actually 47, is quadruple chinned and has five kids with different dads and has a tattoo of a dolphin on her shoulder.

It's extremely common. He thought he'd have more chance of a date with an older pic.

In the distant past I've been very selective about pics I have put on my dating profile, because I am pear shaped with an enormous bottom half, and wanted to get an actual in-person date so I could wow them with my personality rather than being immediately rejected for having super-big hips.

I also went on a date with a guy who seemed lovely via messages - said he was my age (47) one adult child (same as me) and when I actually met him two weeks later he was 57 and had six kids with three women ranging from 4yo to 28yo. Said he was trying to wheedle out golddiggers but he had no gold to dig for and I earned a lot more than him. FML. That was a shocker!

I also quickly found out why his relationships didn’t last - he was never wrong about anything and it was his way or the highway. Three dates - left when I found about all the many many lies. His photo and height were accurate though.

My ex husband, we have been divorced 12 years is still using the photo he was using when we met, over 25 years ago! He is 35 in the picture and 60 in real life. Pity the woman who dates him now.

Edited

same my ex fiancé is on the apps using the photo he used when we met 11 years ago. that photo was 8 yrs old when we met!

My DH said he was 6ft on his dating profile. He is actually 6ft 3, but didn't know, as "he's never bothered to check" 😂😆

Up until around a year ago, I was quite actively dating and had more than one first date where men told me they looked much younger than their age (mid fifties) but they looked their age. I think its ultimately an ego thing, not wanting to admit to themselves that they're older and greyer.
I also had more than one comment that I looked like my photos and they were really surprised 🤣
I'm a little unusual though. I really enjoyed the dating apps. I met so many interesting people and have lots of crazy dating stories. I didn't take it too seriously and had a lot of fun as well as making a few friends.
Then I ended up meeting a wonderful man on Tinder so the dating adventures have come to an end.

My friend had similar. A hot French guy put his height as 5’8 so wasn’t getting swiped at all. She decided to meet him anyway and turned out he was 5’10. He’d just converted cm to inches wrong 😂 (luckily for her!)
