Petty thread

What does your partner do that gives you that couple of seconds rage 😡

It can be over in seconds and doesn't mean you have to LTB but in those 2 seconds you would happily trade them in 😂

Top 3 for me

Gets the words wrong for the Gtech ad song.

Leaves dipped Teabags at the side of the sink to move later.

Takes his socks off in the living room at night and leaves them til the next morning.

Side note - I am WELL aware of how nuts this is

Puts the soft plastic rubbish in the recycling bin.

Nicebloomers · 16/11/2024 08:15

I swear this man waits until I’ve done a really deep clean on the bathroom and then decides it’s a perfect time to trim his facial hair. His quick wipe around the sink is obviously nowhere near sufficient.

EmotionalSupportBiscuit · 16/11/2024 08:20

Whistles this little nine-note rhythm (can’t call it a tune) and bloody hell I am hearing it now under his breath at random times.

Strokes his left eyebrow, I assume because once upon a time there was a freak long hair. Joyously he let me at it with my tweezers. But god almighty, stop with the stroking now.

In reality he is the most amazing man who makes my life a million times better/easier and I couldn’t live without him. Those two things bring out the murder in me 😆

pepperaunt · 16/11/2024 08:28

Ooh, I’ll play! I’d happily LTB when he’s indulging in his obsessive knuckle cracking

I really can't stand knuckle cracking. It's not so much annoying as it sets my teeth on edge.

Incorrect dishwasher stacking.
Leaving things on the side (because I complain about the incorrect stacking)
😬

And when challenged says he can’t understand …

Love this.
I have a lovely DH too but there are just some teeeny things.

I'd be interested to see what would be on his list for me 😂

Drawers and cupboards being left open. If something is stopping it from closing, why not JUST PUSH IT IN and close it?

Running the dishwasher with about six things in it, and leaving dirty crockery on the worktop by the dishwasher instead of including it in the wash. Just why?

BackOnTheAntibiotics · 16/11/2024 08:57

It's the dressing gown of doom here, sadly. Luckily it doesn't come out very often and I am ill more than he is and he steps up. All the same the DGOD and the associated syndrome of 'suffering voice' and plucking inconsolably at the bedclothes is infuriating especially when he would be off up the garden like a hare if there was an interesting locomotive going past.

bifurCAT · 16/11/2024 08:59

Due to the way the house MUST be kept, when we started dating, he would secretly move the books out of order and misalign them. Randomly put a spoon in the fork section. Turn around ornaments ever so slightly...

He still does this.

Oh, I know exactly what he would say and he loves the bones of me!

The floordrobe. More accurately, the shower-rail-drobe. I put my worn clothes on a hanger on the en-suite shower to air before putting in the wardrobe to rewear. Except I don’t actually put them in the wardrobe.

The 17 types of shampoo and conditioner cluttering up the bathroom because I believe the next one will be better.

Xatz63 · 16/11/2024 13:15

Mine will sometimes get something for dinner but cant just tell me when I get home he has to physically show me .He got pizza once and I was getting changed after work into my pjs ! and he walked in the bedroom with the box to show me .
Me saying yes I've seen pizza before didnt impress him

RosemaryRabbit · 16/11/2024 13:41

Arielpigeon · 16/11/2024 22:48

eating crunchy things near me

notlisteningwithmother · 16/11/2024 23:02

'Tidy piles' of paper, clothes, crockery all over the house
Cutting toenails in bed and firing bits of nail all over the room
Noisy eating. I don't think I'm particularly sensitive but it really puts me on edge.

Mumlaplomb · 16/11/2024 23:04

shaving in the sink and then not clearing stubble up properly.
And leaving his giant trainers out in the kitchen for everyone to trip over, rather than in the cupboard he walks past to get to the kitchen.

MrsPerfect12 · 16/11/2024 23:06

Washing on the floor beside the basket.

hanging jacket on the cupboard door instead of inside the cupboard.

shoes left outside the cupboard instead of put inside

I had this conversation with friends lately and every single one of our husbands do it! Why?! What is it about a sparkling bathroom that triggers the beard trim?!
