The women who think this is a normal part of dating, the women who have convinced themselves that they like it. The women who are so brainwashed into a male-centric, pornified view of sex that they are flattered and feel desired to receive one. The women who are so deprived of connection with their own actual, personal female sexuality that they only know how to be turned on by what a man tells them is sexy.

There may be a minority of women who respond genuinely? Women who are out for fast, no strings sex and appreciate knowing the relative size & shape of the prospective shag's dick. It's not impossible.

I do think the poster has a point though.

A huge amount of male sexuality is pushed onto women, who are heavily affected by that. I feel that's happened to me since I was a child. Everything sexual or "naughty" was rooted in and aimed at men's sexuality. Page 3, carry on laughing, sitcoms, porn mags, most films, topless calendars, strip clubs (not comparable to male strip revues), cheer leaders at sports events, "helpers" like round girls at boxing and promo girls at sports events, women's clothing etc etc etc. That's what I grew up absorbing.

I spoke about degloved penises to my boyfriend because I was reading this thread while on a call with him (we don’t live together and often have hugely long calls where we’re both doing other things at the same time). He actually looked them up. Poor man. He had initially thought it meant circumcised. Oh dear. I was cringing even though I have a vagina.

My sex drive is mostly activated by romance or at least strong friendship which has turned flirty (I believe that’s demisexual?) but just going from my current DP and maybe one ex - the other one didn’t like his penis very much and referred to it as looking like body matter hanging from a shark’s jaws - I think it’s a timing problem? They mostly like their equipment and have fun with it themselves regularly so they send pictures hoping we will be visually excited just as they are as men. The vast majority of us are not. It isn’t helped by the social stereotype of bigger is better, either. It might also be a sort of evolutionary hangover from sexual selection: the peacock with the biggest tail, the baboon with the biggest backside, the tropical bird with the silliest dance etc - they think if they show the goods they’ll get off.

I think there may be some element of flashing but mostly they really do think women would like to see and will be encouraged by seeing photos of their erections.

They are basically saying, this is what I've got, this is what you'll be having sex with, I can keep it up; are you happy with this/turned on?Etc.

They are trying to escalate the sexual interaction.

They're hoping the woman responds "I love your dick/you're a nice size/you've got me all horned up now/when are you available?" Etc

They genuinely think that's a possibility.

This is partly because they project their reasons for online dating etc onto women ... Which is primarily or exclusively for sex; they think women are on for the same reason - they therefore think it's a good thing to show them their ah .. credentials/equipment and see if they're interested/impressed/turned on, and move towards meeting for sex.
