IMO, with a dark coat over the black and cream dress you can go for a bit of colour in the shoes/bags/jewellery

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2008 12:05

right! i'm on it with wraps now!

brb!

OP posts:
Baffy · 12/02/2008 12:05

Thanks HW

HappyWoman · 12/02/2008 12:06

I am sitting here wishing i had some forthcoming event(s) when i could 'steal' your personal stylist .

PC how do you do it - your keyboad must be red hot?

Baffy · 12/02/2008 12:09

I like these

www.dune.co.uk/catalogue/styles.asp?r=9&g=74&s=253&y=S08LFA41OCS133H&page=1

and a wrap would be lovely
debanhams/house of fraser/john lewis for that

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2008 12:09

holy shiiiiiit, have you seen how much pashminas go for?

i'm a skinflint so all my personal styling is being done a PC budget!

OP posts:
Baffy · 12/02/2008 12:11

no no wait - I did the wrong link

I do like them!

but I meant...

Baffy · 12/02/2008 12:13

these

TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:14

I LOVE that coat! I would buy that regardless of the GN, in fact, was just about to BUT, being 5ft 10 Ihave to buy from the tall range at DP, otherwise sleeves, legs, and length of things are just not long enough. Shame.

TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:17

I LOVE those shoes Baffy BUT, £125!!! Oh my! I can tell you are a high earner!

I have just remembered, I have a cream pashmina (sp) I got it for p&p only out of MIL's 'Yours' magazine. Its very nice. I may try it when the dress comes. Or do you think black would look better?

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2008 12:17

these would match the dress and aren't too high
www.dune.co.uk/catalogue/styles.asp?r=9&g=74&s=237&y=A07LLE10COF042M&page=4

found pashminas on ebay much cheaper

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350024058987

they do matching bags too.

thanks for all the kind words and encouragement for tomorrow evening.

i will try not to let you all down!

HW, can you tell I am easily distracted and always ready to do some surfing LOL!

OP posts:
TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:18

Oh yes PC, love those! Love the price too I am going to have to give DP a bill with his tea tonight

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2008 12:21

cream would work TFM the same way that black would also work.

i think you need some colour tho, you could co-ordinate with your accessories.

i think an ecclesiastical purple pashmina or jade or burnt orange or siren red!

but taht's me, always drawing attention to myself LOL!

OP posts:
TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:22

Okay, shoot me down if this sounds far out but, that John off This Morning says there is a lot of navy and black together this season, do you think a navy wrap and maybe, perhaps, shoes in navy or navy/white with matching bag would look daft?

(can you tell it's a long time since I've been to an event )

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2008 12:22

shame about the coat TFM, I really liked it too.

I think we have similar taste, always a useful trait in your personal shopper/stylist LOL.

now then, Teabag Jury, should I extend my sickness another day and go get a haircut tomorrow? It's been nearly a year after all!

OP posts:
TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:24

Ooooh purple, yes, I'm loving that idea. I Like those pashmina's you linked me to too. To be honest, I would like to stand out a little IYSWIM

TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:24

YES! Extend! Definately! x

Baffy · 12/02/2008 12:28

I think you can never spend too much on shoes!! Think I have a shoe problem though!

Cream wrap would be lovely.

Not sure about the Navy... but if John says it goes then it's worth a try!!

Although I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to colour. I tend to keep things quite plain and co-ordinated. Would love to be one of those people who turn up to work with bright red shoes on and actually look good. I'd look like I got dressed in the dark!!

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2008 12:33

well, that fits with the whole sailor navy/white thing which is where we started!

shoes are proving tricky but

www.faith.co.uk/productdetails.aspx?pid=808016&language=en-GB&cid=

OP posts:
TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:34

Wll I do like John but, he has had a few disasters too I'm quite liking the idea of purple now, a nice deep purple.

I could never wear red shoes. You know what they say about ladies who wear red shoes? No knickers! Don't ask me why though

TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:35

If we pray for rain I might get away with wearing some of those fancy wellies

Baffy · 12/02/2008 12:38

Go for the wellies go for the wellies!!

Well you did say you want to stand out!

PC take tomorrow off. Definitely!

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2008 12:39

so we're meeting about 5ish so i'm thinking hair cut about 3:30ish.

or is it madness to get hair cut (just a trim wash n blow dry) when already dressed for going out?

not that i'll be too dolled up y'know!

OP posts:
TimeForMe · 12/02/2008 12:39

I would love to. I can just see DP's face.....

Have you rung the IL's yet?

Baffy · 12/02/2008 12:40

NO that's a great idea. You'll walk out of there looking stunning!
