Can’t believe it, but here we are on Thread 5!

Thread 4 here

Just back from a 4.5 mile run - bit cold this morning! I’ve sea monkeys growing in the kitchen, soaps hardening in the bathroom, and the carpets are full of glitter. They had a great weekend!

The thumb also seems to be improving. Phew.

All on today to prep for tomorrow’s meeting with Geller. He really does seem broken. But I will not waiver.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and all health ailments are on the mend. Time to slap on some moisturiser - caught the sun this weekend - but look much better for it!

@WhatWouldChristineCagneyDo

Officer Crabtree?
Because he might give her a “good moaning”? Grin I’ll just go now.....
Pashazade · 26/05/2021 16:28

I guess that depends on whether or not he's "pissing" by her house! Oh dear I think I'm showing my age or something. Grin. Sounds fab Polly hope things carry on as you want them too!

RandomMess · 26/05/2021 16:32

😂😂😂😂😂

StuckInPollyannaMode · 26/05/2021 17:38

Officer Crabtree 🤣

More...Kenneth Branagh in Wallendar (sp?) crossed with a young Gibbs from NCIS

He’s a DI (and the fact he is a trained negotiator and could TOTALLY take Geller down is extremely attractive 😂)

But generally, he’s just lovely...

Generic innuendo about handcuffs and the size of his truncheon…

DartmoorDoughnut · 26/05/2021 18:33

Oooo he sounds fab!

ItWasAgathaAllAlong · 26/05/2021 19:32

Officer Crabtree?

I thought you meant George Crabtree from Murdoch Mysteries... but you really need William Murdoch himself (Yannick Bisson - swoon!).

Canadian series, if you've not seen it (and you really, really should - all on Sky on catch-up I think)

But I'll also vote for Sergeant Snog in the case of of a nickname for Polly's new dating interest!

StuckInPollyannaMode · 26/05/2021 22:38

So quite by coincidence I start watching a random Netflix suggestion.

Then realise why the lead actor looks so familiar...and I find his so attractive. Not sure Jason Bateman has ever played a policeman, but he’s pretty darn close to DI Delicious!

It won’t let me attach a pic, but Google Jason Bateman beard 😀

Ooohhh....swoon.....

If he's not for you for whatever reason and he's a decent chap you could offer him up to the Pollyanna support group and one of us will be happy to oblige 😂

tiredvommachine · 26/05/2021 22:58

I'm married to a policeman with a beard and can confirm he is a delight Grin

SpringCrocus · 26/05/2021 23:25

Bloody hell Polly swoons

Nickname DI Delicious
Aka DID

Newestname001 · 27/05/2021 00:59

Oohh!! HELLO!!! 🤩

StuckInPollyannaMode · 27/05/2021 06:48

@tiredvommachine not that we are reading too much into this at ALL, but anything I should know about dating a policeman? Is not my world at all. Although I have a couple of friends in the forces.

Last night it all got a bit heated on messaging...this is fun!

I spoke to my therapist about it. Just to sense check if she thinks I’m on the rebound/ too vulnerable to date / it’ll hinder my recovery.

She’s given me the go ahead. That I now know what my boundaries are and my hard lines and I’m strong enough to communicate them. And that I deserve some fun and to explore my sexuality. Just to live in the moment and not think too far ahead, just enjoy it and ground myself every now and then to make sure it is what I want.

😁

Your therapist is awesome and you completely deserve this!

1WayOrAnother2 · 27/05/2021 08:09

Not just cold fish in the sea out there then😁
Have fun with Delicious DI Jason Bateman!

LittleMissNaice · 27/05/2021 08:54

Bateman-esque Intelligent Guy - DI Considerate and Kind.

Now, what could we call him for short? 🤔

@StuckInPollyannaMode I am also a police officer, so I am well versed in the species 😁.

This job can attract the wrong kind of person with the power aspect, but that is the same with a lot of jobs. Working shifts and extra hours, planned or unplanned due to operational need can be a good opportunity for people to cheat but if they're that kind of person, they will do it anyway.

The job is unique in which you are thrown together with your colleagues into situations that make you bond very quickly as it can be life or death scenarios you are facing. You can also spend more time with your colleagues than your actual partner! Especially working nights.

I can't see any reason why your DI dishy should be anything but a nice addition to your life. You will hear horror stories about dating police officers but it really shouldn't be taken as a blanket description as they're not all bad!

StuckInPollyannaMode · 27/05/2021 11:48

DI Dick feels a bit...disrespectful

DI Dishy it is!

Thanks @tiredvommachine that’s good to know.

The sun is shining and I’m so happy. With myself, and generally.

Can’t stop laughing - got hit on during the school run by the school dad lothario 🤣

It was extremely inappropriate 😂 and he was duly rebuffed.

I don’t think he’s that clever, he clearly doesn’t realise we all know he’s a bit of a player and his wife turns a blind eye, poor woman.

Walked up to me and told me that he’s really enjoying doing the school run at the moment because every time he sees me there’s less and less of me and he wants to see more and more of me.

I said thanks for the compliment but I have standards.

Then ran away and laughed about it with a couple of friends round the corner 😂

Gosh I’ve changed. A couple of months ago I’d have been so grateful for any scrap of attention I’d have lapped it up.

Dear God that's a hideous line - I'd have felt the need to wash off the sludge of misogyny. Well done for putting him in his place.

LadyDanburysHat · 27/05/2021 11:52

School run lothario Dad sounds hilarious. What a line! I love that you ran
away and laughed about it.
