How often do you wash?

Basically this. I shower everyday and my DP hasn’t washed since Tuesday, and regularly goes days without washing. Is this normal?

Every day. That's grim. He must stink to high heaven.

Mischance · 16/10/2020 23:32

I don't shower every day - I have yards of hair and can't be arsed to dry it. I use a good deodorant and have a bidet so I do not stink.

Closetbeanmuncher · 16/10/2020 23:35

Twice. Once in the morning once when before bed. I would expect the same hygiene levels from a partner.

pequini · 16/10/2020 23:36

That's seriously gross. The sheets! Bleurgh. The only reason sheets last a week is the bodies in them get bathed daily almost every day.

AlwaysLatte · 16/10/2020 23:40

That's gross. One or two showers each minimum each day (two if going to the gym or gardening, etc).

Closetbeanmuncher · 16/10/2020 23:41

How can I approach this without DP taking massive offence

"I don't eat unwashed cock" may cause slight offence but will likely solve your problem

PrettyinPink80 · 16/10/2020 23:41

Nope not normal and a bit gross. Does he refrain from brushing his teeth to?! Buy him some shower gel and hand him a towel, if he says no find a new sweet smelling clean man to enjoy life with instead, can't bear a whiffer! 😳

rorosemary · 16/10/2020 23:43

I shower every morning, need it to feel human. I wash my hair roughly every other day though.

dazzlinghaze · 16/10/2020 23:44

Generally I have a shower every day but only do a hair wash 3 times a week. Sometimes though if my depression has reared its head I can go a few days if I'm not going anywhere. I live alone though so I'm not inflicting my filth on anyone else!

madcatladyforever · 16/10/2020 23:45

That is absolutely disgusting, I would not inflict my unwashed body upon anyone and shower everyday.
Mt ex husband used to think his natural unwashed body would attract women. I informed him that he just stank and smelt repulsive.

madcatladyforever · 16/10/2020 23:47

Also why are you concerned about offending him? He clearly does not care if he stinks the bedroom out. I'd just be very blunt with him.

Morning shower, standard. Post workout shower means I wash twice per day day, unless at the weekend where I generally roll around in pig swill...

Aquamarine1029 · 17/10/2020 00:13

Your partner is fucking gross and why you put up with this filth is beyond me. It takes no more than 3 minutes to clean your body in the shower. There is no excuse for this.

ToastyCrumpet · 17/10/2020 00:17

I shower or bath twice a day. Couldn’t live with someone who didn’t shower/bath daily.

marniedes · 17/10/2020 00:21

@Judystilldreamsofhorses

Shower every morning, often have a bath at night. On a slow weekend I might potter around in pjs then have a bath in the afternoon.

DP showers every day, but never has a bath unless he is really ill.

A bath a day and a shower - Do you not care about you water or energy consumption for the environment then? That is so unnecessary
ToastyCrumpet · 17/10/2020 00:27

@marniedes how do you know what’s necessary for someone else? Some people sweat more than others. Some people have bladder problems. I rarely run deep baths and never spend more than five minutes in the shower. Don’t be so judgmental.

Everyone sweats doesn't necessarily mean you need a shower everyone is so uptight I mean two showers a day is unnecessary. If you have bladder issues and piss yourself I suppose you should probably have a shower

RainbowMum11 · 17/10/2020 00:43

I wash my hair once-twice a week, full wash but not necessarily a shower everyday though - am on a water meter and skint!

ToastyCrumpet · 17/10/2020 01:01

@marniedes I said that some people sweat more than others. You’re clearly someone who feels threatened by other people’s levels of hygiene, hence the aggressive language you use. Your problem entirely.

This is fucking brilliant! I'm using this next time DP has had a pee and I wanna do some cock sucking Grin
avamiah · 17/10/2020 01:36

I am up very early around 5.30am ( Monday to Friday) so I take a shower/bath and wash my hair the night before.

throwaway100000 · 17/10/2020 01:42

I shower twice a day (AM/PM).

AM to get fresh for the day, PM to wash off all the outside germs. I couldn’t personally get into bed without showering but I have high hygiene standards. I wash my face & carry out my dental routine at the same time so it’s no big deal to also jump in the shower quickly.

I have a skincare routine which includes body products (eg moisturiser, sunscreen, body anti-spot spray) and it’s easier to apply on freshly showered skin, just like facial skincare.

I wash my hair 2/3 times a week - it’s dry and highlighted so washing it more frequently isn’t suitable for my hair type.
