Got asked out as a joke

A colleague asked me on a date when he had been drinking and got my number .

We then met up a while later on what I thought was a date we went bowling and for a meal . I assumed he wasn’t interested .

We kept in contact as friends as spent some time together this weekend. He kept remarking how he doesn’t find people who look like me attractive . I am feeling a bit down about myself anyway . I got fed up and said could be tone it down.

He said it doesn’t matter what I think as I should know he doesn’t find me attractive and he only asked me out that time as a joke . He said he regretted asking me out but I’m a nice person.

He’s now blocked me. I feel so stupid. I can’t believe I was asked out for a joke !

Be glad he's out of your life because he's got way bigger problems than you. I seriously doubt it was a joke - it's obviously not something that anyone would find funny, which defines a joke.
He sounds twisted, he wanted to bring you down most likely because he's angry at another woman, or women, in his current or past life.
Carry on being you, give him a wide birth in future, he might have blocked you now, but it's possible he could re-contact you down the line next time he wants to make himself feel better by treating a woman like crap. Don't give him the time of day, grey rock if you come across him at work, sounds like you didn't progress from platonic luckily, so if there's any work gossip, just say there's never been anything between you, which is kind of true.
