Is this The Ick?

Been chatting with a guy for a few days, seems pretty nice. Which is probably the number one quality i'm looking for (long back story, dv etc).

Anyway, we arranged a day for a virtual date, buf not long afterwards he mentiones he had an embarassing minor medical condition. It's not the condition itself, it's the fact that he mentioned it really early on. AIBU to have cold feet?

I once dated somebody who told me about his colon problems. It gave me the ick I and I just couldn't continue.

Suzie6789 · 06/06/2020 18:25

It depends on what it is.... if you feel like you’ve gone off him though it probably is the ick.
Feels a bit mean over a medical condition he can’t help though?

SouthWestmom · 06/06/2020 18:25

Is it some sort of skin disorder? That might put me off if it was very flaky.

Sorry. I know that's not nice.

But if I got to know someone and they didn't treat it like a disclosure I'd probably not see it as a huge issue.

Badlydone · 06/06/2020 18:25

I bet it's piles

whiteblue · 06/06/2020 18:32

'I'd love to but i'm a bit worried he might be on here and i'll out myself'

Honestly, I don't think he'll find this in S and B

RuffleCrow · 06/06/2020 18:33

It does feel a bit mean, but i wonder how he would feel about me announcing i suffer from really heavy periods or something, when we haven't even met. Except more personal/ ick than that imo. It feels like it might be a sign he's not really viewing me in a desirable way either.

I thought IBS at first. I doubt its to do with his penis as all men think their dicks are amazing Grin

Tbh I have no idea why he would tell you so early on?? Does it affect his day to day life or relationships?? please tell us

KurtansCurtains · 06/06/2020 19:14

Is it ED?

C'mon, OP. It can't be that outing, can it?

autumnboys · 06/06/2020 19:16

I’m voting piles.

Ze1tGeist · 06/06/2020 19:18

why would he be on mumsnet?

my vote is terrible, intractable BO.

JamieLeeCurtains · 06/06/2020 19:21

Well if he's testing out whether it'd put you off or not then it's worked I guess, Ruffle. Because you're put off.

He can't help having the thing, and you can't help being put off by the thing.

If he'd sat on it (the thing) for a while longer, could you have managed not to be put off by it?

Veterinari · 06/06/2020 19:29

Colostomy?

Honestly op he's showing you he's honest and straightforward.

Do him the same courtesy

borntohula · 06/06/2020 19:46

Intrigued.

hopeforlucky3 · 06/06/2020 19:59

Totally intrigued to find out what could be so bad that he felt the need to share from the ofset Hmm

lonelySam · 06/06/2020 20:01

Athlete's foot. Herpes. Dundruff?

TooTiredTodayOk · 06/06/2020 20:04

I'm voting something arse related.

So would it be noticeable once you were getting naked?

I dated someone once who waited to announce, as we were kissing and getting undressed to have sex for the first time, that he had a skin condition. It still gives me the ick when I think about it now.

GreekOddess · 06/06/2020 20:06

Just tell us! Can't really comment without knowing what it is.

RuffleCrow · 06/06/2020 20:11

It's not even that bad a thing, i've had lots of friends/relatives tell me about their same condition and whilst it was a bit ick, i'd known them for years and wasn't looking to date any of them so didn't care that they'd told me. It's the kind of thing you find out from spending time with someone. It's not the kind of thing that needs announcing because it's private. Or at least it should be!

Igtg · 06/06/2020 20:15

Is it something someone already mentioned?

minielise · 06/06/2020 20:16

Is it something you would physically see if he was stood naked?

Bertucci · 06/06/2020 20:18

My first thought was micropenis.

Grobagsforever · 06/06/2020 20:36

Gluten free?

RuffleCrow · 06/06/2020 20:40

It's been mentioned. No, it's not something i'd ever be able to see, naked or not.

Dillo10 · 06/06/2020 20:52

I vote piles
