Is any one dating a dwarf?

Ok, here’s my dilemma, I am widowed and I have 4 kids. I recently started dating a colleague, everything is great, when we are alone everything is perfect. The thing is he’s a dwarf. He’s 4’6” and I’m a foot taller. Wherever we go people stare and it makes me really uncomfortable. Will I be able to get over this? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

If you like him enough then it shouldn’t matter.

Moolimoo · 24/05/2018 21:41

I want it to not matter, but I do feel awkward :(

Only you know how you feel!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 24/05/2018 21:43

If he can tell you’re embarrassed to be seen with him then you’d be doing him a favour by ending it.

Vitalogy · 24/05/2018 21:44

This is a test for your ego.

Noqont · 24/05/2018 21:45

If you like him it shouldn't matter. You're with him. You don't even know the people staring. Why should what they think matter?

Moolimoo · 24/05/2018 21:46

I just hate being the subject of whispers and stares

One of my best mates is a dwarf. I forget usually, I don't notice his height anymore. I got used to it.

WombOfOnesOwn · 24/05/2018 21:47

Hello, Daily Mail, these headlines are getting more and more obvious as solicitations of free "true life" new news stories.

MycatsaPirate · 24/05/2018 21:47

The only thing you should feel is outrage for the stares and whispers. No one should be judged on how tall they are, how they look, what they look like. If you like him then you'll get used to the height difference. But please don't drag things out with him if you think it's going to be a major issue.

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 24/05/2018 21:49

Is dwarf the correct term? 4’6” isn’t that short.

boatass · 24/05/2018 21:49
Grin

Would you give up the chance to be with someone you really liked because of whispers and stares? I wouldn't. It would be better to find a way to deal with the arseholes that clearly have nothing going on in their lives but to stare at others who are clearly happy.

Maltesers84 · 24/05/2018 21:52

Hi

Im not dating a dwarf but i am married to man shorter than me. I am 5'10 and he is 5'5.
Its bothered me our whole relationship bit not enough to end things.
I have become accustomed to never wearing heals again though!
I also wouldnt do a first dance at our wedding either.. (amongst other reasons too)
I say crack on... you will soon get used to it and feck what others think!

MargoChanning · 24/05/2018 21:53

Google 'Peter Dinklage wife'. If she can manage, I'm sure you can too.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 24/05/2018 21:54

Peter Dinklage is hot too.

SneakyGremlins · 24/05/2018 21:55

Umbongo, you're drunk Grin

Moolimoo · 24/05/2018 21:55

Singlenotsingle · 24/05/2018 22:00

Why does the DM always have to get dragged in?

NotUmbongoUnchained · 24/05/2018 22:00

He is!

HRTpatch · 24/05/2018 22:00

He is.

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 24/05/2018 22:01

I had someone 4'5 have a crush on me but I just couldn't do it even though I'm only 5. I know it's probably not fair but can't help it. Obviously I was happy to be his friend I just couldn't get past the fact he was the height of an 8 year old.

He's an awesome guy though and he does talks about Dwarfism and accompanying disabilities now so thankfully he doesn't care what people think :)

But if you can't get past it don't lead him along. It doesn't make you a bad person not to continue but it's unfair to make him think it will last, he deserves respect and honesty.
