A note from a secret admirer...?!

Somebody left a Xmas card on my car and it read as follows:

"Have you ever thought that out there nearby there's someone, with a bad handwriting and a tendency to leave creepy notes, actually thinks about you." "If only I can tell you who I am...at least for the time being." Signed: "The secret, and terribly creepy admirer. Have a wonderful Xmas!"

Frankly, I'm flattered. I'd think if I, a man, did this to a girl, it'll come across as creepy? Do you think?

It's creepy.

Tugtupite · 21/12/2017 17:56

Creepy as fuck. From a man, from a woman, make no difference. Ew.

Violletta · 21/12/2017 17:57

flattered?
yuck

CaoNiMa · 21/12/2017 17:58

Weird!

Hassled · 21/12/2017 17:58

I think either way it's bordering on creepy. And odd. I mean - clearly there's someone nearby with a crush on you - so why the game-playing? Why not come out with it? Just to mess with your head? I think anyone straightforward and uncomplicated would have just said "Hi, this is Sue from No 26 - do you fancy a drink sometime?". This isn't someone straightforward - this is someone who loves a bit of drama.
I can see why you're flattered though.

How romantic

PitilessYank · 21/12/2017 18:01

My only issue is with the poor grammar.

GeeWhiz · 21/12/2017 18:01

I honestly don't feel creeped out. If somebody has a crush, then...well...what's the big deal?! But I think I might know who the person is. She left a hint. Whether to follow through, I'm not sure. I could be wrong and approach the wrong person...imagine the embarrassment!!! :)

PitilessYank Appears like 'nervous grammar' to me. She's not writing an essay, is she? :D

Just keep an eye out for severed body parts as tribute.

unenthusiasticfuturedancemom · 21/12/2017 18:11

I think it's quite sweet really.

But you might want to keep hold of it in case she turns into a stalker and you need evidence for the police I've been on MN too long

OliviaStabler · 21/12/2017 18:12

I'd see it as bullying

I think it’s sweet. She has probably seen you in passing and has the hots for you and just wants to make you smile

RaininSummer · 21/12/2017 18:14

I think its nice and can't see any creepiness or bullying.

TheSameCoin · 21/12/2017 18:15

It’s v creepy.

Bringbeboback · 21/12/2017 18:16

Bullying lol? How on Earth is it bullying?!

Oddish · 21/12/2017 18:17

Creepy and bullying?? Goodness. Log it with 101 OP 🙄

MaMisled · 21/12/2017 18:18

I think it's old fashioned and touching and not remotely creepy. Before technology took over, people often did things like this. My sisters DH did the same thing twenty years ago.

I don’t get how it’s creepy. I highly doubt the person who sent the note has been watching the OP with binoculars from a darkened alleyway. She probably lives near him and sees him in passing a lot and just wanted to tell him he has an admirer. I’d be flattered

TheVanguardSix · 21/12/2017 18:32

Bullying? No way.
Just... peculiar.
It's a bit 'try hard' and weird.

Madbengalmum · 21/12/2017 18:34

Why creepy or bullying? I thought it was quite sweet. Good old MN, always a negative.

Vitalogy · 21/12/2017 18:36

I wouldn't like it, like PP said, something straight forward maybe, but this would leave me feeling like I'm being watched. Although we don't know what the rest of the note says.

Bringbeboback · 21/12/2017 18:37

Some people might be too shy or scared of rejection to be totally straightforward though
