Is it worth even attempting to get a ex back?

That pretty much sums it up.
He ended it with me after 5 months for someone else.
Any point even trying?

Has he ever insinuated he regrets splitting up?

MeanAger · 30/07/2017 20:04

Is he still with the someone else?

TBH even if he wasn't I would say no. He had his chance with you, if you weren't right for him then you aren't right for him now. Don't be anyone's second choice.

Marvellousmarg · 30/07/2017 20:04

No

DueNov · 30/07/2017 20:07

No. Why would you want to be second best?

TwoBusyCnuts · 30/07/2017 20:07

No.

I got back with an ex. Fantastic job of pretending he had changed - so much so I MARRIED HIM!! Regretted it in 5 days!! Didn't make to a year and I filed for divorce. So my advice - find someone who makes the most of their first chance with you!!

gamerchick · 30/07/2017 20:09

No.

You need to let it go man. Block him on social media and keep him blocked.... If you're torturing yourself that is.

Louisarrr · 30/07/2017 20:12

No he is still with her.
Think he had us both on the go near the end of us.
She lives closer than me too,5 mins away and I live 50 mins (not that it matters)

Louisarrr · 30/07/2017 20:13

I was so happy ..thought he was too.
Clearly he was looking around when he was with me.

I think you know the answer yourself..

Boredboredboredboredbored · 30/07/2017 20:14

Christ no. Get some self respect!

Ellisandra · 30/07/2017 20:16

How exactly are you planning to try?
Call him up and say "hey, do you remember me - from 5 months back, you cheated on me then dumped me and I hear you're still with her. Fancy getting back together?"

Just - NO.

Starlight2345 · 30/07/2017 20:17

No , just no...

Louisarrr · 30/07/2017 20:19

I just hate feeling like nothing, like he preffered someone else.
I can't stand that horrible feeling, especially when he seemed so into me.
He initiated getting together, talked about getting serious.
Now he is with someone else and I'm on my own ..again.

And you want that asshole back? Why would you even contemplate it? Are you very low in self esteem? Why would you actively seek out such a damaging relationship?

What you need is some counselling.

Louisarrr · 30/07/2017 20:20

I don't know for certain but I have a feeling that he was seeing which one he wanted to stick with.
It's a gut feeling thing..

OP posts:
Louisarrr · 30/07/2017 20:22

I'm so angry for allowing myself to believe I had met someone decent.
I should of known that he would end it eventually ..well he didn't end it he just said he was having problems with his family and he was a closed book (basically too cowardly )

OP posts:
Louisarrr · 30/07/2017 20:22

I think I just want him to see that I was good enough to be with ...

Those gut feelings exist for a very good reason. Sounds like you had a lucky escape.

Take some time off of relationships and spend it on yourself. Getting to love being by yourself and love yourself. Don't ever contemplate going begging for someone to be in your life. If they want to be in your life, they will make sure they are. He had you and he took himself out of your life. That is about as clear a message as you can get. He has made his decision. Respect it, and more importantly, respect yourself.
